@NYGovCuomo has spent A LOT of time pontificating about the need for society to reckon with sexual harassment.

You would think that would mean there’d be some attention paid to sexual harassment allegations against him by a former staffer?

Quick 🧵
Cuomo championed legislation that he called “sweeping new workplace harassment protections” in 2019.
He railed against the appointment of Justice Kavanaugh because “in New York, we will not waiver and will not back down” on sexual crimes.
He was concerned about a SCOTUS decision because it could force employees to “fight back against workplace violations like...sexual harassment”
He really played up his 2019 budget that, among other things, “implements the nation’s most aggressive program to combat workplace sexual harassment.”

He really focuses on the workplace aspect on this a lot.
I mean really.
“The pervasive poison of workplace sexual harassment” @NYGovCuomo
I have a feeling that not everyone has necessarily dealt with “a long overdue reckoning where the pervasive poison of workplace sexual harassment was exposed.”
Also not sold that Cuomo is necessarily the man for the job here.
“2018 Women’s Opportunity and Rights Agenda”
Of course, Cuomo, like anyone else, deserves the benefit of the doubt when confronted with any legal allegations. And the poor example set with what happened to Kavanaugh isn’t something conservatives should turn around and replicate.

But come on! Where’s the outrage here?
A former staffer with nothing to gain and an enormous amount to lose (which, to be clear, is almost always the case with those bringing sexual violence allegations) confronts an incredibly popular and powerful governor who may be the next AG and says she isn’t alone.
Where’s the coverage? Where’s the concern? If nothing else, the rank hypocrisy of encouraging those who suffered workplace sexual harassment to come forward and then dismissing allegations against himself should get a scrap, right?
@nytimes did a good write up of these allegations.

But compare that to this tweet from @USATODAY. I mean, are you kidding me?

For most outlets we’ve just seen silence.
And in case it needs to be pointed out, beyond Ms. Boylan, those who suffer from this trivialization are the victims of sexual violence.

I ask this earnestly: is there any evidence - even a shred - that if Biden or some other Democrat were in the White House that things would be different? That we wouldn’t be seeing thousands of people die every day?
If you think there is, I would encourage you to prove evidence. Because Democratic governors have, overwhelmingly, failed to confront this pandemic, which has played out mostly at the state level.
Seven of the ten states with the highest mortality rates per capita have Democratic governors. That doesn’t count Gov. Charlie Baker of MA, who has governed the way most blue states governors have.

So where’s the evidence? statista.com/statistics/110…

We were promised @realDonaldTrump was lying when he said there would be a coronavirus vaccine by the time the year was over.

Yesterday’s news makes me think it’s time for a trip down memory lane.👇 Image
First we had the fact checks.

Back when Trump first floated (and then promised) a vaccine before the end of the year, there were many across the media.

The most well known was probably @NBCNews, who also doubled down on this one. ImageImage
A lot of people picked up and repeated @NBCNews’s fact check, including @GeoffRBennett and @kylegriffin1. ImageImage

leave it to the commentary class to turn "dude who masturbates during a Zoom call with colleagues" into a "subject of debate"
sometimes you don't need to make a subject more complicated than it appears
You should all read this piece because it’s an absolute masterclass in depravity. I’ll highlight some favorites below.

“the Zoom meeting was not the f it at time Mr. Toobin has surprised someone in the business with his sexual forewardness.” is a real quote. Image

The Hunter Biden story broke two months ago. Most of the media ignored it or called it “Russian disinformation,” despite no evidence that it was.

Now that the election is over, the story, it seems, is fit to print.

Who’s up for a little before and after?
You’ll remember that one of the key players in all this was Tony Bobulinski, a former business associate of Hunters.

Well, you might not if you’ve only read @CNN. As of last night, they’d never mentioned him. But their homepage featured Hunter and China.

Funny, that.
And surely you’ll remember that @CNN had former DNI James Clapper on the program to say that the Post’s reporting - that blew the lid off of the Biden family corruption in the first place - was “classic textbook Soviet Russian tradecraft” back in October.

Thinking a lot about this @washingtonpost headline again which, were it a person, would be on trial for abuse of the English language

"Biden relies on pattern of activity to blame Russia for release of data from what is said to be his son’s laptop"
washingtonpost.com/politics/russi…
That’s a headline! It’s meant to quickly convey meaning!
I am haunted by this wanton mangling of diction and syntax.

Despite their homepage headline about Hunter Biden, a search for “Bobulinski,” the former business associate of Hunter who spoke out before the election about the Biden family’s shady dealings, still comes up empty at @CNN.
The guy who went on national television to blow the whistle about all of this *before* the election goes right down the memoryhole.
More of the same at @NPR. Bobulinski turns up three results - all about other Bobulinskis.
