📍Update: “There is actually 17 changes that would affect protein structure in some way that distinguish this variant from other variants that are circulating—which is a lot. It’s striking.” Dr Nick Loman @pathogenomenick says. Research ongoing. #SARSCoV2
dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9…
3) The new strain of coronavirus spreading through Britain has a 'striking' amount of mutations, scientists have claimed.

UK's Covid-19 Genomics UK Consortium who have been investigating the evolved strain, say they have uncovered 17 alterations, which they described as 'a lot'.
4) Most of the changes are on the spike protein. But not all.

Again we don’t know if it will affect vaccines. Unlikely many say. And again, we have multitudes of vaccines under development.

Silver lining of the pandemic...

NASA researchers found that since February, pandemic restrictions have reduced global nitrogen dioxide (an air pollutant from fossil fuel combustion) concentrations by nearly 20%.

#COVID19
2) More details here. svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/4872
3) “The model simulation and machine learning analysis took place at the NASA Center for Climate Simulation. Its “business as usual” scenario showed an alternate reality version of 2020—one that did not experience any unexpected changes in human behavior brought on by pandemic.

I love Saturn 🪐 so damn much. Hope y’all don’t mind me binge posting about Saturn today.

Remember—Earth 🌎 exists (not just life) as an actual planet today entirely because of Saturn.

No 🪐 = No 🌍
2) here is why Saturn saved the inner solar system from being entirely destroyed by Jupiter, and hence allowed Earth 🌍 to later form.
3) Saturn. Such a beauty. Image

Jupiter & Saturn crashing next week??? No!

Cool fact: if it weren’t for Saturn 🪐—Jupiter would’ve continued its inward orbital dive to Sun & destroyed inner terrestrial planets (ie 🌍). But all was saved by Saturn by pulling J outward.

(HT @girlandkat)
2) this rare event of the Saturn Jupiter alignment is known colloquially as the “Great Conjunction of 2020”. And yes there is a website for this. jupitersaturn2020.org
3) Saturn first stopped Jupiter out of its inward orbit dive around current location of Mars because they together achieved 2:1 orbital resonance as @drbecky_ explains. But then they were stable there for a while... until... Image

Young people have died from #COVID19... by the ***thousands**.

➡️ Chasing immunity via “we want them infected” mantra that Trump WH/HHS advocated is tantamount to reckless endangerment or worse at this point.

Thank you @Cleavon_MD @jeremyfaust @hmkyale @RWalensky
2) because what they did was nothing short of sadistic. Image
3) and they even admitted people would get infected and sick

New—Trump’s Operation WS just invoked Defense Production Act to allocate manufacturing capacity to vaccine, bumping drug TEPEZZA for thyroid eye disease—shortage now imminent.

➡️Hope you don’t have the rare serious autoimmune w/ no other treatment/cure.

2) Look it’s a hard choice between #COVID19 vaccine vs another disease. I get it. But this is what **good govt planning** would have made a world of difference. Logistics is all about planning. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail, as they say.
3) Thyroid Eye 👁 Disease is also known as GRAVE’S disease. I know several friends who have it. It’s a progressive illness. This really sucks. thyroid.org/graves-eye-dis…

📍Dining reservations in 2020...

When did cases soar this summer?
➡️June (AZ, TX, FL... then CA)

When did cases soar this fall?
➡️Early October.

Place with major case decrease this fall?
➡️Illinois in mid November

Coincidence? #COVID19 ImageImage
2) The adoption of outdoor dining in NYC also made a difference once we were in the summer and fall.

Face mask usage also made a big difference between states, not shown.

Dining decreases is also a matter of public health vigilance in imposing containment measures
3) Both ventilation and masks needed to reduce risk indoors. But most places like restaurants not ventilated well enough, unless completely outdoors.
