Flash: Vatican's doctrinal office issues note saying it is "morally acceptable" for Catholics to use #covid vaccines derived from fetal cell lines when other vaccines are not available.
"All vaccinations recognized as clinically safe and effective can be used in good conscience with the certain knowledge that the use of such vaccines does not constitute formal cooperation with the abortion," states doctrinal office.
Although Vatican says #covid vaccination should not be mandatory, it says people who choose not to be vaccinated "must do their utmost to avoid ... becoming vehicles for the transmission of the infectious agent."
#Vatican calls it a "moral imperative" for governments and pharmaceutical companies to offer #covid vaccines "to the poorest countries in a manner that is not costly for them."
