Classic case of a lazy opposition!

If Sh @digvijaya_28 had done some homework & checked his facts, he would have discovered that the proposal for the New Parliament Building had been around even when his party was in power.
The same sentiment of the then Hon'ble Lok Sabha Speaker Smt Meira Kumar Ji was conveyed by her OSD in 2012 when he emphasised this demand in a letter to the then Secretary, Urban Development.
Even the then Rural Development Minister @Jairam_Ramesh had said in his interview given to @The_Hindu in 2012, that “we badly need a new parliament building. This one simply isn’t functional and is outdated.”
Congress has developed a habit of concocting fake narratives. The entire process of selecting the architect consulting firm for the said project had been done in a transparent manner through a competitive bidding process using QCBS method.
Open competitive bids were invited by CPWD for appointment of Consultant to carry out comprehensive architectural & engineering planning for “Development/ Redevelopment of Parliament Building, Common Central Secretariat & Central Vista at New Delhi”.
The 2-stage bidding process prescribed detailed qualifying criteria. 6 reputed architectural firms from across the country submitted their technical & financial bids; 4 met the qualifying criteria.
Proposals were screened by a Jury of experts. M/s HCP Design, Planning & Management Pvt Ltd was awarded the work as the winner in this competitive process.
As regards the cost, I am surprised that Digvijay Ji is oblivious to the fact that by one estimate the cost of 142 acres prime land dedicated to Samadhis of Nehru-Gandhis itself is valued at ₹1,71,500 cr. However he has a problem with the New Parliament building costing ₹971 cr
I suggest Mr Singh should inform himself better. The money being spent on the project is to be spread over 6 years period. It will save huge rent & O&M costs long into the future, apart from boosting functional efficiency & synergy.
Mr Singh should appreciate that such works are futuristic infrastructure investment. Economic revival in wake of Covid-19 pandemic is a key priority of the government. These construction works will transform the infrastructure needed for aspirational New India.
Real estate development will create huge direct/ indirect employment, opportunities for contribution by experts and instil pride in all Indians as their national facilities will be second to none. It will uplift public spaces & amenities in the central vista.
The sheer magnitude of the development/ redevelopment works will contribute significantly in economic revitalisation across the entire construction value chain. Common Central Secretariat will ensure improved land utilization of precious land in the heart of the city.
The project will create much needed facilities for the Parliament, efficient offices for govt & cultural institutions/ public facilities befitting our great nation while protecting & refurbishing the great space where we Indians have our Republic Day Parade & Beating the Retreat.
Had Mr Singh done his job seriously, he would have known that the Standing Committee which he is a member, is that of the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs & not the ‘Urban Welfare Ministry’. This in itself casts doubts on the seriousness of his tweets.

In order to promote Agri-produce export, GoI has launched Krishi Udan Scheme, which provides waiver of landing & parking charges by AAI for Indian freighters & P2C (Passenger to Cargo aircraft).

@MSBADAL @PIB_India @BJP4Punjab @MoCA_GoI @rajchengappa
The concession is available only if Agri-produce accounts for over 50% percent of total chargeable weight of cargo carried. Amritsar Sahib, Adampur, Bathinda, Pathankot, Chandigarh & Ludhiana airports are included in the Scheme.
India follows a very liberal Air Cargo Policy. Foreign &Indian carriers can operate scheduled international cargo flights from any point in India, including Amritsar Sahib &Chandigarh. Spicejet has also undertaken 14 Cargo flights on Delhi-Amritsar-Moscow route, since April 2020.

Kerala is the pioneer as far as airports under Public Private Partnership are concerned. First PPP airport in India came up in Kochi in Kerala. It is a successfully run airport with a capacity of 13 Million Passengers Per Annum & was handling 9.62 MPPA in 2019-20 before COVID19.
Another very successful example of PPP mode is Kannur, also situated in Kerala. In fact, it was during the UDF regime in Kerala that the foundation for Kochi airport was laid in 1994 & the airport was inaugurated in 1999 during LDF regime.
Now, Kerala Government, running two very successful airports in PPP mode, is opposing the handing over of Thiruvananthapuram airport under PPP mode. It has come to my knowledge that an all-party meeting in Kerala has opposed the PPP model at Thiruvananthapuram airport.

Parallel narratives can be no match for facts.

A campaign has been launched against the decision to privatise the Thiruvananthapuram airport.

Here are the facts.
GoI granted "In principle" approval on 08.11.2018 for leasing out the operations, management & development of six (06) AAI Airports viz Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Jaipur, Guwahati & Thiruvananthapuram Airports through PPP mode.
In their representation that followed thereafter on 21.11.2018, GoK requested that Thiruvananthapuram International Airport be delinked from the PPP process. They also cited their experience in development of Greenfield airports at Cochin & Kannur.

A New Low.
"Those wanting to come back to Bharat or fly out are more than fed up with Vande Bharat."
Who are these people who are 'fed up?'
Are they the nearly 70,000 people who have returned to India or the more than 17000 who have flown out?

@EconomicTimes
Are those who booked 22K online tickets to US-Canada within few hours of opening of bookings on 5/6 June, or the 22K who will book their tickets when return bookings open up tonight, the ones who are 'fed up?'
Or are these 'fed up' people those 100K who flew out on foreign charters or the 38K Indians who flew in?
"AirIndia is getting flak for what customers say exorbitant & arbitrary pricing"

Due to increasing demand for resumption of scheduled international flights by people who want to travel abroad due to compelling reasons, I reviewed the state of international flight operations around the world.

Globally the situation is far from normal.

@MoCA_GoI @PIB_India
Most countries have less than 10% international operations because they are allowing entry only to their own citizens & have placed restrictions on foreign nationals.

Many are allowing inbound flights from few countries but have also placed restrictions of quarantine/isolation.
We have let outbound passengers on VBM flights to fly to countries which allow them entry. More than 13500 people have flown out of India. @airindiain has sold another 22000 tickets for flights to US & Canada yesterday (5-6 June).Bookings for Europe & other places will open soon.
