1. I have a story to tell. Maybe someone will learn a lesson or two from it. In my family, you earn your keep. My story is set in 2006: my very first exposure to Forex trading. Back then in Nigeria, I was visiting a cousin in Port Harcourt. I’ll simply this story the best I can.

2. He was studying Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt. So this cousin (X) was robbing Peter to pay Paul. He devised a method that allowed people to invest in his Forex trading scheme. People are always taken by the “appearance of wealth.”

3. He bought cars, rented a mansion within the Ada George area of Port Harcourt, used very expensive phones, wore nice English suits & expensive perfumes. His bank then was GTB (won’t name the branch). At one time, he threw a lavish birthday party at the Novotel Hotel.

4. He was among the top 10 richest boys in town, a true “Port Harcourt First Son,” at least his appearance was “all fur coat and no knickers.”
He was the Zeus on Olympus, a socialite. And as far as Uniport & Port Harcourt hottest chicks was involved, money wasn’t his problem.

5. Back to my Forex gist, he had 6 boys under his wing at the famous Pretasso hostel, Uniport. I was a little girl back then, but at least, I knew something. From one investor, his scheme grew to hundreds of investors. People from all walks of life knew him.

6. Retirees was his preference, he targeted their gratuity. I knew of one of his friends whom the mother had recently retired from the NNPC. Her son (X’s friend), convinced his mother to invest in the burgeoning Forex trading scheme. X promised her 100% returns on investment.

7. This woman invested N30m. Remember this was N30m in 2005. I wonder how much that is now? Fast forward, by Dec 2005, his Forex trading account had swollen to the tune of N450m. These were people’s monies, EVERY SINGLE PENNY. The case that finally landed him (X) in trouble,

8. was a certain Alhaja with money & influence. X had failed 3x to meet her returns on investment. She had invested N50m & X was supposed to pay her N50m every month. Alhaja wouldn’t listen to any of the stories, she had X arrested & flown to Abuja.

9. Within 3 weeks, the entire network crashed. The army of “hoodwinked souls,” had found out X was arrested, his depleted bank accounts frozen. Word got out he had purchased the rental duplex for N60m earlier. His cars, the duplex, his jewelries, all - seized.

10. The retiree with N30m investment, upon getting the news of what had happened, collapsed. She never recovered from a stroke. Till this day, my cousin is still missing, not a single word, no whisper. Rumor had it he was last spotted at a party in Germany, no one knows for sure.

11. All we know is he got out, lost everything, people lost their life savings. In the end, Forex made him, but it also broke him.

“Forex trading is a full time job, if you are a seasoned trader, hedge fund manager, an investment banker,

12. more importantly; “you live in the Western Hemisphere.” You should never use people’s monies to trade Forex, that’s greed & naivety.

Both the investors & the trader running forex Ponzi schemes, are callous. I typed this in a rush, so forgive any mistake(s).

1. Like Nnamdi Azikiwe, Patrice Lumumba was the independence leader & the first Prime Minister of the DRC. He was a pan-Africanist, an African nationalist, & the casualty of the US-Soviet Cold War. He was first deposed by Mobutu Sese Seko in 1960, with support from US & Belgium.

2. Then assassinated in 1961 by a firing squad, under the command of Tshombe Katagan regime. A mutiny broke out in the army shortly after Congolese Independence. Lumunba had requested aid from US & Belgium, to stop the “Katangan secessionists” that had risen from the mutiny.

3. Both US & Belgium refused, prompting Lumumba to turn to an unlikely foe - The Soviets.

This provoked the United States, & Belgium (US ally). The Katangan secessionists carried on with support from Anglo-Belgian mining company, & a large contingent of Belgian military chiefs.

1. If we are keeping it a buck, the mandatory NYSC is another N30K N-Power. It was designed to keep the Youths in slavery. The UNIFICATION is a decoy. They knew they aren’t going to provide jobs for the youths after school, so they came up with the grandiose tokenization scheme.

2. Provide enabling laws, build infrastructures, provide security. Show capacity, competence & character: “the 3 Cs needed to drive an economy.” Then watch the Youths collaborate with the private sector & explode their potentials.

3. I understand many found their soulmates during their NYSC, & many more are hoping to get lucky as well. But should that be a justification for its continued existence? Let’s be real, “the mandatory NYSC is an obsolete program, it has outlived its time & should be scrapped.”

1. “The lost years of Jesus.”

With Herod gone, the gospel tells about how Jesus & his family, left Egypt & settled in Nazareth. Then Jesus, Mary & Joseph abruptly vanished from history books. There is almost no mention of Jesus’s boyhood & upbringing.

2. These are Jesus’s formative years, the period that shaped the radical beliefs he would later preach. Scholars call them, “the lost years of Jesus.”

What happened during these lost years of Jesus? Jesus’s boyhood was recorded in the first century Judea.

3. The real Jesus lived in Nazareth for most of his life, until the moment he launched his ministry

Unfortunately however, the gospels tell us very little about Jesus’s early life. The artistic blue-eyed Jesus, portrayed in movies, is a far cry from a typical Middle Eastern Jew.

1. Buhari human rights atrocities hit rock-bottom with the crackdown on #EndSARS protesters. The Joe Biden-Kamala Harris team already hinted, “it will be less welcoming of the Buhari Regime.”

Most of Buhari inner cabinet are aware of this ‘not promising’ U.S - Nigeria relations.

2. Buhari’s crazy rush in congratulating Biden is more of posturing than genuine, & everyone knows that.

That said, the divisions in America today predates Trump. It all started precisely in 2000 when Al Gore lost to George W. Bush. Al Gore was the popular candidate at the time.

3. He lost the election in a very close race, after Florida recount. George Bush’s White House was a very unpopular administration.

With Donald Trump’s defiance & challenging the votes, the transition may be rough & turbulent. It may hit a rough patch before it even takes off...

What figure of speech is that?????

2. I can’t possibly imagine Buhari, the “Divider-in-Chief” in same sentence with Obasanjo. I mean so far, he hasn’t stepped into OBJ’s shoes, & he won’t in a million years!

It’s obvious, Buhari will become the most isolated former president at the end of his calamitous infamy...

3. Garba Shehu, Femi Adesina, Lai Mohammed, will all disavow & abandon Buhari, when the ovation fades.
