Thread: #Covid19 My father & our family
My mother and father got Covid19 positive on 20th march. My mother was asthma patient so we were worried for her health but she took good care of her with lot of rest & medication
While my father was also Covid19+
asymptomatic but didn't rest much, on 7th day he developed this strange cough which would make him uncomfortable while breathing. He reported to Military Hospital where he was entitled
They did CT scan & asked to self Quarantine with some medication. The cough grew wrose & we did a private medication, a course of indecibles prescribed by a senior medical specialist
Nothing improved my father on 15th day went back to Military hospital a CT scan was done which was not remarkably good & my father was admitted. 6days in the ward, his condition was not getting much better with having complications in breathing
On 7th day my father was moved to HDU, from there within 24hrs moved to Covid19 ITC. Within 48hrs he went from normal oxygen mask to CPAP machine to ventilator. After 7days he got tracheostomy
Day before going to ventilator my father was in lot of pain, he couldn't bear the pressure of CPAP machine & was feeling more suffocated. He panicked & tried to take off mask twice, but I stopped him with force. To which he murmured why don't you wear it😭
The next day during doctors round my father fainted & all lines went blank, Docs did a 15mins long CPR & revived him, my brother in law said he saw 1 nursing staff on top of my father putting pressure on his chest while others worked hard & bring him back to life
After 7 days, now my father has gone through tracheostomy & today the ventilator was weaned off. My father is breathing on normal oxygen pressure but can't sustain not for very long as his heart rate and BP was rising.
Doc said we don't want him to push to hard to breathe on his own as he was on ventilator for 7days. The worst thing we are facing now is my father is only blinking his eyes moving his head, with no movement in rest of the body
On the other hand the lungs are infected rhe virus has mutated, palsma was done, Covid19 negative anti bodies have developed, but lungs will take time to heal. They called it Pulmonary Fibrosis or ARDS acute respiratory distress syndrome. I am not sure.
These past 10days for our family has been really tough, while my father is still in pain still in critical condition. Me and my brothers working day shifts nights shifts, wearing PPE keeping house disinfected. Avoiding contact with kids in family
This is how unfaithful life is & how unpredictable #Covid19 is, you don't know whom is going to get infected and who out of infected will collapse.
I have seen 3 coffins getting loaded in ambulance during my night shift as attendant with my father
The story of this doctor whose wife also a doctor who got covid19 positive while treating her mother father and brother all covid19 +. The doctor told, his wife don't know yet they all are dead. He said they were all okay till 10th day 11th day unt they collapsed one by one
If you are reading this please take care of yourself, your loved ones, your family. Please follow SOPs, it hurts when I am going back home from hospital or coming to see my father & on they way I see people not following SOPs
