I kid. But seriously.

Ya know how covid has been this thing where it’s either hitting you and your circle or it’s not... really?

Or... it’s a hoax?

Well... it’s not that.
It’s all around us.
It’s picking up speed.

I and too many of my friends now have immediate stories.
Close friends and family
are dying or in danger of it.
In LOS ANGELES.
We are overloaded.
They triage people away.

It’s not the time to be ‘tired of this’ or succumb to ‘my sweet lil kids are SO BORED, bless their hearts...’.
It’s one holiday season... one year... we ALL must let go of it...
Precisely the way we should have last March but have proven we’re big fat babies with no restraint.

I’m not even trying to convince the thousands of us who will read this not to gather knowing they have 12 nuanced reasons why the way THEY’RE going to do it is safer than the other 50 million ways to do it.

I’m merely pointing to the fact that next month we will be on FIRE with this shit because it’s ‘TOO MUCH to bear’.

If anything this is a lesson in patience and selflessness and our ability to deny ourselves...
One we are failing.
I hope the human spirit in this country, and world, can be restored with a new generation of aware young people. I reject the incurious.

Also I’d really like fewer people to travel or gather indoors and please... #WearAMask .

I had already been dismayed at the state of humanity in the world and, further, by the shit show 5 years of our own American behavior.
I thought we’d seen the bottom.
But people, not only is the ENTIRE WORLD in a crisis... an actual health crisis. We’re in crisis of humanity.

Go ahead and worship this breathy orange dictator who does ‘not take responsibility at all’. I don’t give a fuck anymore. We’re soon to be done with him and you’ll need to live in the dark recesses again. Fine by me.

But what is fucking wrong with us when we’re told to hole up & stay socially distant in an effort to keep resources available for the OTHER PEOPLE in the world who will need them by a metric of LIFE AND DEATH... so we GO TO THE GROCERY STORE & HORDE? What are we shopping for?
