One example I know of, a place people have been kept is at Harrison's point in Barbados...just an example of how different countries deal with this;

I know in other countries similar types of instances...someone tests positive...then they are told to wait for the authorities and are transported to a facility...not usually one they would choose...
This is the kind of "roll of the dice" while traveling and there is often lack of clarity about one's choices or rights...or even what comes next...a short vacation could become weeks in some facility. And that's before health care costs etc.
