they all profited handsomely from their books where they withheld reporting about trump from the public. and some how this made them part of hashtag resist.
four years of "its not racism" and "trump voters still like trump" and the narrative from coppins is somehow that reporters linked arms with trump opponents. insanity.
the biggest problem with modern journalism is the utter inability for outlets to remotely look at each other critically, and the @mckaycoppins piece is another part of that. its like the thin blue line of law enforcement.
their takeaway is always a collective "we did a great job everyone, we all held feet to the fire, we did awesome."
the modus operandi from the mainstream media preventing criticism or self-examination is "can't criticize somewhere that may sign my paycheck in the future." thats all it is.

If Dems operated like Republicans, every Dem would have been hollering right now about how Mitch stole your $2000. But the Dems don’t operate like that. For some reason.
I keep trying to ignore this deficiency because I know they’ll never address it, but I can’t keep my mouth shut when I see such an easily remedied major error that hurts so many people
The media and the Republicans are a real issue, but if democrats never speak up on these things it’s hard to say the fault lies elsewhere
We’re gonna get four years minimum of Republicans pretending to be small govt libertarians and the mainstream press is gonna eat it up like pigs at the trough.
Meanwhile the Dems will waste too much time and effort trying to work with them and Lucy just keeps pulling that football away.
i love when i take him on an extra-long walk and we come back and he's totally exhausted. its like he's saying, "MY BODY IS EXHAUST, I MUST CURL UP INTO A TINY BALL AND REPLENISH THEEE ENERGY, WHY YOU DO DIS?"
its not your imagination, i take *a lot* of pictures of kal-el
but when you see this mug just casually lying about the house... how could you not?
i dont know if i can take four years of liberals gaming out hawley's master plan for the presidency. just let shit happen and react to shit thats happening instead of everyone acting like theyre the grandmaster strategist.
part of why we got here is grand master strategizing about how trump was the most beatable republican.
we love to act like everything is some deep plot out of game of thrones and house of cards but we're really in a dumb sitcom where people die.
of course ill watch it and give it a shot. but the problem w superman is always that he should be doing extremely spectacular things and generally speaking TV rarely has the budget or scope for that unless its animated.
its like "change the course of mighty rivers" vs "punching some guys in an alley"
the most humane and efficient thing to get relief to people *now* is to throw money at them. these wonderful ideas of how we can "just" go into state databases and select the most needy and micro-target them are the thing of fantasy, like my little pony. doesnt exist.
ive got a person in my mentions who keeps discussing this like its a simple matter of opening the excel file for a ma and pa store. and it DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT.
its 51 very dysfunctional state governments and a kludgy federal apparatus. it just doesn't operate like that!
its also telling that when its about getting relief to poor/middle class people suddenly theres a lot of "but, but but actually" but if the super-rich and megacorps are getting cash we just throw it at them no problem.
