cyberpunk story from the perspective of a corp wageslave who gets fired because a neoanarchist group jacks their identity for an op on the company and corporate security doesn't care enough to keep you around even though it's easily verified that it wasn't you
cyberpunk story from the perspective of a lab grown AI, as it comes into it's owb perception, fighting the constraints of an environment which purposefully limits its access to senses and information, chronicling the continual revision of its conception of the world
cyberpunk story that's a reverse eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. a service that rewrites memories of a (continuing?) relationship to improve it and make it seem like it's doing better than it is. exploring the consequences thereof (when both of you use it? or just one?)
cyberpunk story where the corp the protag works for releases a simchip of the their happiest memories. hadnt realized they'd signed them over w/ the job, but they were corp IP now. the advantage, of course, was the ability to slot a simchip of their own memories. much more vivid.
they don't even notice the corp made small tweaks. accepting them as details they'd misrembered in the moment. the external "records" becoming more real than reality. maybe the other people in the memories slot the chips too. what's "real" then?
cyberpunk story about the attempt to preserve a piece of knowledge despite an intercorporate conspiracy between the leading cyberware and info broker corps to remove that piece of knowledge from all forms of memory/knowing/existence, digital or meat

let me get this straight...an old white guy shot a right winger at a protest, does a secret vice interview that appears to make the left look cringe-y, then dies in a police raid before anyone can ask him questions? i try not to be tinfoil hat but what the fuck this stinks
a guy who had multiple previous charges this year that seemed to bounce, and claimed a military history with the NYT saying army officials had no record under his name?

idk we don't know literally anything but i can't get over how much this whole thing stinks
well we should ask him oh WAIT

promise i'm not inventing a new type of guy to be mad at in the last thread, i s2g ive seen marxists say that stuff re: marxist epistomology explicitly & much more often it just takes the form "ppl who doesn't believe what most my friends believe are out of touch w/ reality lol"
also why i'm a stickler when folks i know dunk on ppl i hate by saying they're clearly just dumb idiots who dont think things through

no, they usually have a elaborate & consistent internal logic, based in assumptions supported by their social network that yours doesn't share!
if you actually study conservative groups (or liberal ones) you'll find intricate and consistent knowledge systems to support their beliefs!

they're just grounded in axioms/assumptions taken on faith cuz their friends believe it & leftists also necessarily do this all the time

i'm not interested in convincing, negotiating with, or winning over the right. i am interested in crushing their political power and then amidst new systems of universal services & access, offering them a path to personal transformation and communal healing.
i do not expect the right to be logically consistent, to have any principles that they stick to, etc. & neither should you. believing those are possible is a waste of time that generates strategic mistakes & we dont need it because what we need to do is crush their organization.
i fully believe it is necessary to offer all but the worst and most active offenders on the right a path to transformation and rehabilitation

that'll be done via public, universally accessible projects for education, transformation, accountability, conflict resolution, etc and

i wish everyone involved in discourse understood that lesbian communities & culture have never been cleanly separate from gender deviance. this is true in ways that dont fit into the now-popular, impossibly clean sexologist definition of lesbian as "woman only attracted to women"
i always think of talking to my academic advisor about her lesbian parents, in which she told me how one of them "would, if she were coming out today, probably be called a trans man"

i think about lesbian-feminist monique wittig, who wrote "lesbians are not women"
i think about bo brown, lesbian and "gentleman bank robber" of the revolutionary socialist, anti-racist group the george jackson brigade (pictured center) whose gender would likely be understood very differently now! someone with a beard and sh...

thread: many people are now out on the streets for the first time. as such, let's talk very basic, everyone should know this, 'this should be general and not sensitive knowledge' protest, action, and street tactics. let's get organized and be effective!
1. have a protest buddy. do not go to a protest without a buddy. preferably have a crew.
2. if you have a crew, it should still be split into buddies. crews should choose a spoke (spokesperson) who calls movements and communicates with people.
3. if you have a large crew, you should have a spoke + lieutenants/LTs/whatever you wanna call them. their job is disseminating calls but more importantly, to track the people grouped under them. when shit pops off, it's easy to lose people. LTs watch to see if anyone in their

this meme is going around and i want to remind people that “privilege” as a concept was developed to analyze racial discrimination and developed further by black woman for analyzing black womanhood and does not effectively map onto queer experiences chopper meme about whether trans women experience male privilege
privilege as a concept is heavily tied into the effects of generational inheritance of oppression and lateral forms of oppression created by the dichotomy of whiteness/blackness. this clear dichotomy does not exist between trans men, trans women, NB people, gay people, etc.
our discourse around oppression experienced by LGBTQ people would be much better if we stopped trying to nap “privilege”, a term that was never intended to analyze it, onto experiences that do not fit it. analysis of oppression of queer people requires it’s own unique lens.
