In November, I called for the prosecution of donald trump.

With today's bombshell report of trump's attempted vote-rigging on tape, I want to do a thread highlighting some of his specific crimes and bad acts from A to Z.

What follows is the tip of the iceberg.
Abuse of power. Trump was rightly impeached for high crimes and using his office to help himself politically. nytimes.com/2019/12/18/us/…
Bribery. Trump has pocketed enormous bribes through his hotels. independent.co.uk/news/world/ame…
Corruption. Trump has used the presidency to enrich his company, including trying to hold foreign conferences at his golf club. reuters.com/article/us-usa…
Double-dealing. Trump's family shamelessly hawked the family business overseas on your dime. vox.com/world/2018/2/2…
Emoluments atrocities. Trump has used his sacred office to stuff money into businesses, violating Article I, Sec 9 of the Constitution. stltoday.com/opinion/editor…
Foreign extortion. Trump tried to extort a foreign leader to attack our elections to smear his political rival. nymag.com/intelligencer/…
Ganged up on private businesses. Trump has attacked private businesses that didn't thumb under. washingtonpost.com/politics/trump…
Hatch Act violations. Trump and his accomplices have repeatedly used government resources for illegal political purposes, including turning the White House into an election day war room and party center. northjersey.com/story/news/new…
Impeded criminal probes into crooked pals. Trump’s Justice Department has looked the other way to malfeasance in his government or killed criminal probes outright. washingtonpost.com/climate-enviro…
Justice Department debasement. Trump let bill barr turn DOJ into trump’s personal law firm to defend his sex assault suits, shield allies, attack his enemies, fire independent prosecutors, and torch the rule of law. theintercept.com/2020/06/22/wil…
Kept medical supplies from states. There is evidence the White House withheld medical supplies from certain states. Trump’s son-in-law purportedly sneered that New York would be vindictively denied pandemic help, resulting in untold deaths. nymag.com/intelligencer/…
Labor exploitation. The trump regime has enabled an assault on workers' rights and organized labor. federaltimes.com/management/202…
Motivating domestic terrorists. Trump has egged on rightwing domestic extremists, who have committed acts of violence at trump's implicit or explicit urgings. Trump winked at a murder plot against the governor of Michigan. thenation.com/article/politi…
Nepotism. Trump stuffed his laughably unqualified kids into top government positions, giving them security clearances and letting them loot the treasury. politico.com/story/2017/10/…
Obstruction of justice. Trump openly confessed firing the head of the FBI to stop a criminal probe of his aide Mike Flynn who sold out America. vanityfair.com/news/2017/05/j…
Pardon disgraces. Trump has used his pardon power almost exclusively on unrepentant racists, sleazy scoundrels, war criminals, and other scum to shield himself and his friends from accountability. motherjones.com/politics/2020/…
Quarantine violations. Trump held a maskless party at the White House for his extremist Supreme Court pick, callously endangering residents in our nation's capital. statnews.com/2020/10/03/hug…
Rule of law arson. Trump has torched the US justice system to protect his allies and target his enemies and critics to an extent usually only seen in banana republics. washingtonpost.com/outlook/trump-…

Tax evasion. There is clear evidence of tax evasion by trump, his siblings, and his children, courtesy of exhaustive investigative reporting. nytimes.com/2020/11/19/nyr…
Using taxpayer money to hide his taxes. Trump has used the government for now 641 days to illegally keep his tax returns hidden from Congress’s legally-binding request. cnbc.com/2019/07/23/tru…
Vote rigging. After making countless lies about nonexistent systematic voter fraud, Trump tried to extort the top Georgia election official to overturn the election. people.com/politics/trump…
Wrecking the Post Office. Trump and his Postmaster General sabotaged USPS to deliberately delay Americans’ mail and subvert the election. news.yahoo.com/rep-pascrell-m…
Xenophobia. Trump legislated hate with his Muslim ban and instituted vicious policies caging children and separating kids from their families. theguardian.com/us-news/2020/o…

On bill barr’s last day as the most corrupt Attorney General America‘s ever had, let me reup my thread of some of his lowlights
Barr lied about the contents of the Mueller Report’s findings to the public right out of the gate and repeatedly lied about them under oath.
nytimes.com/2020/03/05/us/…
Barr intervened to let trump's convicted friend slimeball roger stone off scot-free after stone coordinated with putin vessels to leak dirt during the 2016 election

With bill barr leaving we can never forget barr’s constitutional crime spree and rampage against the rule of law.

This thread provides some lowlights.

My @USPS explainer thread:

📬Handles 47% world’s mail
📦Ships ~150 billion ✉️/yr
🚚Delivers more in 16 days than UPS+FedEx ship combined in a yr
👩🏾👦🏼500,000 career employees
🏢31,000 locations

You can send a ✉️ from Key West ➡️ Utqiagvik AK for less than the cost of a candy bar
No surprise then that Americans rank the post office maybe the most popular arm of government. A 2018 Pew poll found 88% of Americans have a positive view of @USPS.

Try to find something else in our government 88% of Americans support.
The post office birthed a 2nd American revolution. USPS precipitated road building & allowed people to fan out across the land. Postal contracts sustained transcontinental 🚂. It was the post that got the govt to invest in aviation & birth commercial ✈️ .

After today’s outrageous hearing in the Judiciary Committee, I just arrived on the House floor to set the record straight on Russia and the Steele dossier. I’m going to read the dossier into the Congressional Record.
As we saw in today’s hearing, @HouseGOP continues to heap falsehood after falsehood to cloud reality. Trump & those closest to him have repeatedly lied about their multiple contacts w/Russian officials & Putin associates. Even now they have yet to offer a consistent explanation.
And as we’re seeing this week at NATO, Trump continues to snub our allies & parrot Putin’s version of world events. He disregards the input of our civil servants, intelligence operatives, & military officials. This betrayal has become an inexplicable routine we cannot shrug off.

On #WorldRefugeeDay, I am reminded of the refugees I have met after being resettled in New Jersey. They all sought a better, safer life for their families.
While their stories are uplifting, nearly 70m people are displaced from their homes because of war, violence, & persecution. The global response has been mixed, but some nations and NGOs, like @theIRC, have stepped up to support the neediest among us #WorldRefugeeDay
But thanks to Trump, the US has slashed our refugee acceptance rate in half to only 45,000. Credible estimates suggest we will not even meet that goal. That is why I led 126 of my colleagues to demand answers on refugee resettlement. pascrell.house.gov/sites/pascrell…
