No surprise then that Americans rank the post office maybe the most popular arm of government. A 2018 Pew poll found 88% of Americans have a positive view of @USPS.
Try to find something else in our government 88% of Americans support.
The post office birthed a 2nd American revolution. USPS precipitated road building & allowed people to fan out across the land. Postal contracts sustained transcontinental 🚂. It was the post that got the govt to invest in aviation & birth commercial ✈️ . uspsoig.gov/sites/default/…
After today’s outrageous hearing in the Judiciary Committee, I just arrived on the House floor to set the record straight on Russia and the Steele dossier. I’m going to read the dossier into the Congressional Record.
As we saw in today’s hearing, @HouseGOP continues to heap falsehood after falsehood to cloud reality. Trump & those closest to him have repeatedly lied about their multiple contacts w/Russian officials & Putin associates. Even now they have yet to offer a consistent explanation.
And as we’re seeing this week at NATO, Trump continues to snub our allies & parrot Putin’s version of world events. He disregards the input of our civil servants, intelligence operatives, & military officials. This betrayal has become an inexplicable routine we cannot shrug off.
On #WorldRefugeeDay, I am reminded of the refugees I have met after being resettled in New Jersey. They all sought a better, safer life for their families.
While their stories are uplifting, nearly 70m people are displaced from their homes because of war, violence, & persecution. The global response has been mixed, but some nations and NGOs, like @theIRC, have stepped up to support the neediest among us #WorldRefugeeDay
But thanks to Trump, the US has slashed our refugee acceptance rate in half to only 45,000. Credible estimates suggest we will not even meet that goal. That is why I led 126 of my colleagues to demand answers on refugee resettlement. pascrell.house.gov/sites/pascrell…
