How I turned $30 into $100,000

\ thread \
Back in October 2018, I had the "original" idea of selling Twitter headers for 30 bucks apiece.

A Twitter header is the upper-most design that you'll find on every Twitter account.
Thanks to this offer:

• I made money on Twitter for the first time.

• I met the people who I had followed for years.

• My account grew faster (selling gives you authority).
Every day, people with 10, 100, 40K, 80K followers hopped into my DMs asking me to design their Twitter Headers.
In my first month of selling stuff on Twitter, I made a solid $4,263.

Here's the breakdown:

• $3,732 (Webdesign and Twitter Header design)
• $531 (affiliate sales)
I made a couple of hundreds selling Twitter Headers, and the bulk of my income was from upsells.

See, upselling is a sales technique aimed at persuading customers to purchase more expensive or the purpose of making a larger sale.
People NEVER think about the upsells when they're selling their stuff online.

Most people don't realize that it's easier to persuade previous buyers to buy from you again than trying to convince new prospects to invest in your stuff.
Thanks to my Twitter Header Design gig, my brand rose in value.

With more value comes more freedom.

And with more freedom, you're able to say no more often.
With time, I stopped designing the headers because it took too much time to create them.

To this day, some people still want me to design their headers.

It crushes my heart to say no to them.

But I've learned to disconnect time from money.
Today, my Twitter account generates hundreds of thousands of dollars.
That's it, folks. This is how I turn $30 into $100,000.

And it all started selling Twitter Headers for $30.

He tweets about persuasion, writing, and ghostwriting.
@limitlessleila is always posting thoughtful ideas about relationships and marriage.

Transparent, kind, engaging, and vulnerable defines here work.

A middle-class family from Spain came to my country, the Dominican Republic, in 1921 with the dream of building a business.

In 1930, they lost everything to the deadliest hurricane to ever hit the island.

Today, they're worth $1.2B.

\ Thread \
In 1921, the Corripio family came with $3000 Dominican pesos.

That’s equivalent to US$40,000 adjusted for inflation.

Things were going well for them.

Until the San Zenon Hurricane hit the island destroying their business in 1930.
The following year, the youngest of the family, Manuel, went back to Spain.

Things went dark in Spain due to the Spanish Civil War.

So he came back to the DR with his wife and son José Corripio.

And decided to stay here.

My wife was pregnant with our first child Javier.

She had recently quit her job because I was given a substantial promotion, along with a salary raise, just a month before I got fired.

For years, I had the idea that the online world was made for me.

But after failing, I had no customers, no idea what to do, and no hope.

So I gave up.

I took the easy road and decided to stay in a regular 9-to-5 job.

Until one random Tuesday, I was fired.
I had made money online before, I had worked as a freelancer, I had some side-hustles, and some people had paid me for my services.

The thing is that most of these gigs arrived passively.
