The reason we need people who know something about guns to be involved in writing legislation is on display in that pic. That is a BOLT ACTION rifle chambered in .22lr. It is not a β€œmilitary” rifle in ANY way. Pretty sure no military uses .22 or for anything.
The fact that it is BOLT ACTION means you shoot one bullet and you need to reload the chamber manually. This is accomplished by manually pulling the action back and pushing it forward again, pushing a round from the magazine into the chamber.
