Many of my friends believed, for a time, that there was no desire on the part of those in government power, or those who aspire to government power, to confiscate or have a universal registration of fire arms. If they still hold to those beliefs then they will never be
persuaded otherwise. Even as the necessary laws are passed to create such a registry and law enforcement is directed to engage in the collection of “illicit” weapons. They would deny the very laws and directions exist. I’d like to thank Robert O’Rourke, and others, for making it
plainly obvious that there are those that seek, as well as those currently in, positions of political power that indeed do wish to circumvent the constitution and violate your protected right to own arms to defend yourself. I say circumvent because those who wish to
exercise that flagrant abuse of power have no intention of using the necessary process of amending the constitution to do so. As it is far easier to distort the meaning of the 2nd Amendment than to actually amend the document. And that is because the amendment in question is
very popular among the states and people who enjoy the rights protected in the constitution. It is a sad day when legislator and those who aspire to be legislators run on a platform of disarmament of the free people who would give them their only legitimate authority.
