THREAD: This statement from @RepRaskin and his wife @SBloomRaskin about their late son Tommy is the most important thing you'll read this week and it's not even close. I couldn't help but think while reading this that this could have been me. repraskin.medium.com/statement-of-c…
He comes across in this as someone who was a friend to all, despised cliques, and found such joy in debate and the free exchange of ideas: "On Prom Night, he threw a dinner party for 24 fellow students, including classmates who had no date...He hated cliques and social snobbery."
He seemed like THE guy to go to bookstores with: "He ordered and devoured books on the Civil War and Maryland’s history in it, World War II and resistance to Nazism, Jewish history, libertarianism, moral philosophy, the history of the Middle East conflict, peace movements....."
He was an ardent progressive and vegan, but not the kind of person who wouldn't strike up a conversation with someone who had a different background and/or views.
Later, there was this that had me stopped cold and I identified with: "He began to be tortured later in his 20s by a blindingly painful and merciless ‘disease called depression,’ as Tabitha put it on Facebook over the weekend, a kind of relentless torture in the brain for him."
This is something not enough people understand: "[A]nd despite very fine doctors and a loving family and friendship network of hundreds who adored him beyond words and whom he adored too, the pain became overwhelming and unyielding and unbearable at last for our dear boy[.]"
And this was the ending, which will break you (as it did me)
I'm here to say that this pain is real and, unfortunately, growing in numbers as this pandemic continues with such radical physical isolation.

In 2015 and 2016, I felt like this on a daily basis.
Every day since, I've continued to fight and even though I've had many more good days than bad (thanks to our Lord and Savior, my family, my therapist, coworkers, and some friends but not man), it's a war that I and millions go through. Education is growing but it must be better.
So if you've made it this far, thanks for reading. If you haven't, check out my pinned thread. And again, the Raskins will be in my prayers. [END]

Make no mistake. The liberal media will make sure that there are Enemies Lists for every single conservative and Republican who isn't part of the Bulwark and Lincoln Project. Many have them have already decided that our denunciations mean nothing and are disingenuous.
For them, if you weren't opposing Trump from the moment he came down the escalator, you're someone who's less-than-human and deserves to be shamed out of political life.

That's no way to run a country.
You might see CNN and MSNBC personalities insist they believe in a two-party system and are saddened by the disgraceful behavior from Republican voters today. But in reality, their rhetoric for years has shown they don't see any need for another party besides their own.

I'll say it -- it's not looking good, folks.
And there's one person to blame for this. Some of you will be denial, but deep down, you'll agree with me.
Earth to everyone saying Mitch McConnell is the person I'm blaming here, you're wrong.

Answer? Donald Trump. That's who's to blame here.

This should be required viewing -- Georgia elections official Gabriel Sterling going through an exhaustive debunking of the complete and utter lies about State Farm Arena vote counting (1/)
Here's part two of Georgia's Gabriel Sterling rounding out the lies about State Farm Arena's plumbing issue being staked and the video that -- in the eyes of the President and Mayor Giuliani -- showed there were secret ballots in suitcases pulled out when no one was looking (2/2)
Okay, so I decided that I'll do more of these because it's really important. Here was Sterling going through claims about double counting ballots and felons voting

These two tweets are actually instructive. Here we have former conservative reporter Tim Alberta going full LEEEEEROY JENKINS.

For years, EVERY Trump moment or tweet was worse than Watergate. It was The Boy Who Cried Wolf and years of hate for anyone who disagreed with them.
Now, something actually bad happened (and there have been a few over the last four years), people are obviously not going to listen to you. Granted, people should regardless based on merits and principle, but the media never do themselves any favors.
And yet, Tim's going off about how, instead of love and unity (as Biden -- his site's candidate -- has urge, millions are basically enemies of the people.

It's pathetic and yet very informative.

TL;DR -- everyone's terrible.

.@BrookeBCNN and @DonLemon video-chatting with Don's mother from Louisiana is just great stuff #CNNNYE (1/)
.@DonLemon has talked about his mom aplenty over the years, so you can see the affection is real. As much as I trash CNN, it's a real thing #CNNNYE (2/)
Idk about you guys, but the Lemon family has desserts DOWN pat. #CNNNYE (3/)

THREAD: Alright, some real talk. The TL;DR -- I actually had a tremendous year and, from a historical perspective, 2020 was not the worst year in human history (even though it was quite bad overall -- look it up). #NewYearsEve
I continued to live a dream career at NewsBusters cited by people I could have only dreamed of, named the employee of the year, and another year in which I'm thankful for my health, therapist, church, parents, and stamina. I've continued to be a voice for mental health...
...and a small part of the political world where people -- for some reason -- listen and care about what I have to say. Many times, I've felt run down, used, and wasn't sure whether my life was worth it (but not anything like 2015 and 2016). I've also worked more than ever.
