THREAD: Alright, some real talk. The TL;DR -- I actually had a tremendous year and, from a historical perspective, 2020 was not the worst year in human history (even though it was quite bad overall -- look it up). #NewYearsEve
I continued to live a dream career at NewsBusters cited by people I could have only dreamed of, named the employee of the year, and another year in which I'm thankful for my health, therapist, church, parents, and stamina. I've continued to be a voice for mental health...
...and a small part of the political world where people -- for some reason -- listen and care about what I have to say. Many times, I've felt run down, used, and wasn't sure whether my life was worth it (but not anything like 2015 and 2016). I've also worked more than ever.
But here I am, even though I'm alone in Lancaster with parents asleep and I'm not with my usual crew. I've been knocked down a few times and felt used, but I've emerged stronger and grateful for God's many blessings that I truly do not deserve. God IS STILL in the boat with us!
I'm immensely grateful for my family, my work family, my friends (YAM, PSU friends), extended family, my girlfriend, VPC family, you all here on Twitter dot com (including my haters!), media friends and adversaries (including -- believe it or not -- CNN!), and countless others.
Let's make 2021 a year to remember in the best way possible! #HappyNewYear2021

.@DonLemon has talked about his mom aplenty over the years, so you can see the affection is real. As much as I trash CNN, it's a real thing #CNNNYE (2/)
Idk about you guys, but the Lemon family has desserts DOWN pat. #CNNNYE (3/)
THREAD: As I've done the last two years on NYE, here's w/my list of a few on-air reporters I either like, respect, admire, appreciate, and/or find to be good people even if I disagree and we frequently slam them at @NewsBusters. They might be genuinely bad but they've....
...fooled me? For as scorched earth as I can get, please know I believe in the concept of a robust media & an empowered citizenry BOTH enjoying #1A as they're two puzzle pieces to this great country. If you're on the list, I still still think you're biased, but I like you!
This list only covers straight reporters from papers, TV networks, or websites. I did leave out my fellow conservative media pals. In other words, no commentators, columnists, or pundits. I also left out local reporters as I'd be here forever and I generally like them more 😂
So much conserving conservatism in this tweet. I hope Biden sees this, bro.
You both are really "restoring the soul of America," "lower[ing] the temperature," and listening to his call to "stop treating our opponents as our enemies."
Biden on Nov. 7: "It’s time to put away the harsh rhetoric, lower the temperature, see each other again. Listen to each other again. And to make progress, we have to stop treating our opponents as our enemies. They are not our enemies. They are Americans. They’re Americans."
I mean, here's what set him off, but the point remains -- the Never Trump crowd embodies the very same personal traits they claim to oppose
To the 74 million Trump voters out there, know that MSNBC, Comcast, Joy Reid and Jason Johnson HATE you. They HATE you as human beings. They detest you with every fiber of your being. And when you call out their hypocrisy for expressing venom against them, they flip out.
Biden on Nov. 7: "It’s time to put away the harsh rhetoric, lower the temperature, see each other again. Listen to each other again. And to make progress, we have to stop treating our opponents as our enemies. They are not our enemies. They are Americans. They’re Americans."
It's all a lie. Joy Reid and Jason Johnson don't want to unify. They want to continue to hurl venom and stir up hatred, teaching their viewers to hate people who think differently than they do.
I guess MSNBC's @JoyAnnReid doesn't have a problem with small biz closings and people of all ages falling into depression and committing suicide during this pandemic due to crippling isolation. Here she was expressing anger at the idea COVID shouldn't control and cripple you.
Reid: "We're not just talking about Donald Trump saying things that were stupid. But saying things to down play the seriousness of it: 'Don't let it take over your life' 'The cure can't be worse than the disease.'"
Everything may be perfectly fine for Joy Reid as she's more than privileged with her new-ish TV show and upcoming D.C. professorship, but people are struggling and not able to have the lucrative job that @JoyAnnReid does. Instead, they're committing suicide while she snarks.
#Tucker said what a lot of us were thinking and/or saying, but no one (or really anyone in cable news, at least) has as big of a profile as he does, so what he did tonight matters a lot.
I feel like tonight has the possibility of being a real turning point in all this.
And for those in the liberal media dismissing what #Tucker did as insufficient, the reality is they need to come lean and say that nothing would be sufficient for them other than going on some Evan Baxter-like meltdown about the evils of Fox News and the entire Republican Party
Really, go look. It's as if #Tucker broadcast obscene material on his show tonight (e.g. Janet Jackson at Super Bowl XXXVIII) by simply playing clips of what Sidney Powell alleged before critiquing her.
When you treat political speech like pornography, you might have a problem.
