Arrests after a pro-Trump mob violently stormed the U.S. Capitol to stop certification of election results: 52

Arrests at anti-racism protests in the days after the police killing of #GeorgeFloyd:
- DC: over 430 (88 on one night)
- Nationwide: over 10,000
About 300 members of the National Guard were deployed in DC ahead of Wednesday's pro-Trump rallies. It took an hour to deploy 1,100 more during the attack on Capitol Hill.

By comparison, 5,000+ National Guard and federal troops were on DC streets at summer anti-racism protests.
Hundreds of pro-Trump rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol to block Congress certifying election results.

There have been only 52 arrests so far.

The FBI is asking the public to identify rioters and submit tips, info, video, photos on those "actively instigating violence."
UPDATE: DC police arrested 68 people after pro-Trump rioters attacked the Capitol, most for violating curfew.

14 arrests were in connection to rioting.

By comparison, DC police arrested up to 88 people in a single night of anti-racism protests in June, 44 for alleged "rioting."
President-elect Biden called out unequal treatment of pro-Trump rioters by law enforcement:

"If it had been a group of #BlackLivesMatter protesting... they [would] have been treated very, very differently than the mob of thugs that stormed the Capitol. We all know that’s true."

Thousands of pro-Trump protesters are attempting to storm the U.S. Capitol, forcing the building to lock down. 2 other Congressional buildings have also evacuated.

Congress was inside debating certification of the 2020 election results. There has been no evidence of voter fraud.

UPDATE: Pro-Trump rioters have now breached the U.S. House and Senate chambers.

Capitol police were in an armed standoff with them as rioters shot inside and shattered windows to get in. One person has been brought out of the building on a stretcher.

1,000+ people in Louisville defied a 9pm curfew to protest for justice for #BreonnaTaylor. Police surrounded a church where dozens hid to avoid arrest.

The curfew continues this weekend, but a journalist said: "This is a movement and it's caught fire and it's not going to stop." ImageImageImage
At least 24 people in Louisville were arrested during a 2nd night of protests over the decision to not charge police for killing #BreonnaTaylor. They include state Rep. Attica Scott, the only Black woman in Kentucky's legislature.

Police have shot and killed at least 5,400 people since 2015.
