WHITE SUPREMACY is the biggest threat to America and its future. 1/

If “silence is violence” was a day, it would be yesterday. And today I’m holding “decent” white people accountable. Decent white folks need to look at themselves in the mirror this morning and have a honest “come to Jesus” moment about their silent complicity in allowing this. 2/

mania to swell and flourish. For years now, we have pleaded with you to join us as active allies in quelling this poisonous ebb of hate, racism and injustice. This madness could not have risen to the level that we all witnessed yesterday without your silence. If so called decent

white people had spoken up and used their voices and their privilege to fight along side of us in our effort to combat this toxic trend in our country, it would’ve made a difference. It would’ve possibly changed the course.

By fight, I’m not even suggesting attending protests

or making glaring public statements. But you could’ve spoken up in your own social circles in order to create a ripple effect of positive influence. Instead of acting like scared teenagers that want be “in” with the cool kids you should’ve said something when disturbing remarks

were being made in your homes, on the sidelines of the soccer field, in your offices, at dinner parties, at Thanksgiving with your relatives, on the golf course, etc, etc. You should’ve used the power of your privilege and position to hire and create diverse work environments.

You should have made an effort to expose your children to multicultural activities and diverse environments instead of keeping them insulated in your lily white suburban bubbles..marinating in toxic whiteness that isn’t even an accurate representation of the America of today or

tomorrow.

Because “decent” people are supposed to know better, you have to help others do better at times. Others that may be decent too, but they’re scared. Others that may be decent too, but they’re down on their luck and vulnerable. Others that suffer from genetic racism.

Others that are hurt and angry and need someone to blame.

You could’ve been the voice of reason that would possibly change the trajectory of warped and twisted perspectives. But instead..what did you do? You laughed nervously and moved on because it didn’t concern you, right?

Or you said nothing because you just want to keep the peace? Or you stayed silent because you just want to get along and not cause waves? Well, after yesterday you should now understand that it DOES concern you, there is NO peace and there ARE waves that will crash down and

destroy this country that you say you love ifyou don’t accept and understand that we’re ALL in this together, whether you like it or not. What concerns us, concerns you. This is not just our fight. This is your fight too. And it’s coming to your backyard.

As we all know, if

you’re not part of the solution you ARE part of the problem. In your own way, you need to do your part in influencing public consciousness and changing the tide in our communities. It’s not good enough to just think it, you have to be it. As individuals we all have the power to

effect change, drop by drop. Gather the courage and start having the hard conversations with each other and amongst your families. Get honest about your own biases. Expand and diversify your circles. Get involved. Because the expiration date has long arrived for white supremacy

in this country. It is the underlying evil that is destroying this country. The new normal for the majority of America’s population is to fight it and call it out at every turn. We will not stay in our lanes or comply. As we saw in this election and in Georgia we are completely

capable of organizing and using our voices and votes to create positive change. Which is why Trump and his supporters are so angry to the point of desecrating the very thing they claim to love. So ask yourselves this solemn morning after, what are YOU going to do? How can you

find and use your voice? Whether you want to be or not, as a citizen of the United States you’re in the game. So what kind of player do you want to be?
