theres a strong culture of "what's the point, theyre just going to keep doing [bad thing] anyway" with liberals. and i think this is precisely the wrong takeaway.

liberals tend to do this thing - and i hate it - of "well ill just ignore/mute/hope they do better but don't say anything."
it doesn't work. all that does is tell the bad actors that you'll sit and take it. and they do more.

talking smack about politicians and institutions will not have immediate effects. but its a long game. if they keep getting their hand burnt when they reach for the hot pot, eventually they - at the very least - think twice before reaching for the pot *again*.
but really, few things drive me as nuts as when liberals respond to me that they muted someone (at least a significant someone) spewing nonsense.

(and to be clear, sure, ignore magachoad92. god knows i do. but we can't just ignore rush limbaugh, josh hawley, fox news, and the rest. hoping it goes away doesn't work. that's been a terrible strategy. its killed thousands.)
