Trumper spin that impeachment is bad & everyone should play nice is like what happens after a gun tragedy when gun advocates say "it's too soon" to discuss gun control

Dems need to counter with better shared messaging - to heal those who incited violence need to face justice
One thing GOP/far-right does well is creating simple shared talking points

Dems are pretty bad at this - it may seem better to let individuals speak in their own way, but at a certain point, it's helpful to the public to hear some consistent shared ideas

Exactly this👇 try doing this for Dem messaging on the same issues

Dems don't need to change core principles, but the age of social media & disinformation isn't going away and Dems need to make sure true facts & key messages are clear & consistent

One item that explains this is GOP/far-right is unified by supporting white supremacy, bigotry, homogeneity, while Dems support diversity, multiculturalism, varied views

It's easier for GOP/far-right to simplify messaging but Dems need to get better at it

Story on Kushner Companies FL deals notes they opened South FL office last year run by Michael Szafranski & G. Toledo

I googled Szafranski and found he went to federal prison & paid $6mil+ to victims for role in Scott Rothstein's $1.2 billion ponzi scheme

After Charles Kushner left prison he hired 2 former inmates, both convicted in fraud schemes, into top jobs

A Kushner spokesman said the company is proud to have hired Lebor and Goettlich, along with other ex-convicts, as part of its second-chance program

Here's Michael Szafranski's author page noting he spent one year at Federal Prison Camp in Miami and blogs on white collar crime

what a failure for the Capitol police, from not prepping beforehand, to taking selfies during, to letting smiling jeering rioters exit the building after
Trespassing, entering with deadly weapon that leads to harm, physical damage, conspiring and traveling across state lines

I highly recommend Putin's People @CatherineBelton

Russia is only part of the Trump story, but this history of Putin is filled with lessons, including how Westerners underestimated how political, KGB, mafia & business interests would merge under Putin as democratic rights eroded
I started Putin's People in June, got sidetracked, and finished it this week (taking copious notes)

While I was familiar with many of the names and events, it was like doing a puzzle and watching various pieces suddenly fit into the bigger picture

A new name in the book surprised me because of his role in Trump's orbit - Shalva Tchigirinsky aka Chigirinsky met Trump at the Taj Mahal in 1990, reportedly had Solnetsevskaya ties, mentored Aras Agalarov, knew Steve Wynn and was involved in one of the Trump Moscow discussions
