Extraordinarily wide levels of spread over past fortnight, partic between Dec 29th and Jan 5th...
Eg Liverpool has gone from green (10-49 cases/100k) to dark purple (800+) in less than a month:
Even more noteworthy - Liverpool is now at 934 cases/100k (jan 5th) just a week before on dec 29th was 314 (ie jumped two categories in one week) four weeks before (dec 8th) it was 91.
Greater Manchester - fewer infections having been left in tier 3, but quite a rise over latest week... 400ish/100k
Greater London area - remarkable spread since Dec 1st though mostly already happens before Christmas - does then intensify to mostly 800 plus though in final week...
Here’s the full interactive map - an excellent resource from @phe_england where you can go back over time week by week and zoom into local authority and almost ward level...

Seems to show up the emergence of new variant in north Kent

Interesting detail on Liverpool here:
More detailed figures from Metro Mayor... in just a fortnight since Christmas Eve, Liverpool City region 7 day case rate has gone up five-fold - from 209/100k to 1015 overall - six fold in Halton (1236) and Knowsley (1352)
Also notable/ concerning - Bournemouth & poole now at 847/100k, above some areas of eg London... rate was 70 a month ago...

Dutch incredibly organised on full implications of Brexit for their customs - three years’ ago Dutch customs developed online portal explaining full implications of non-tariff barriers, advised small businesses not to use GB parts (rules of origin) etc
