Here’s a middle aged husband and father tip thread: we get in “the tunnel” of kid-rearing d work, and things get robotic. You just put one foot in front of the other. Happiness declines. You just do. But here’s what you need to do: show your wife and kids your personality.
You don’t need extraneous experiences or extra crap for your “mid-life crisis”—damn that boomer phrase! You need to get out of dude robotic reaction to all the stuff you gotta do and have fun, yes. *But with your wife and kids.* Reach back into the mischievous bastard pirate.
Drink at home on Friday night & teach yer kids poker or something you used to nerd out on. Use your strength and author-it-tie to surprise them and your wife with your likes and stop being a dad-simp. Bring them all into what you like. Romance the woman w/your old school charm.
All this crap about toxic this & that and false modern roles is holding you back. Boldly have fun with kids and wife, separately and together. You are a potential king if you step into the role. That’s the fulfillment of the family life you’ve chosen & you’re lucky to possess it.
It’s not hard. It’s right there for the taking. But our culture is cutting you off from it with all manner of nonsense. Go rogue in the home from time to time and bring the fam in on it. Share what you like with them.
Don’t be a coward either. The fam rolls their eyes at dad humor and hobbies at first. Used to be this was known. But you gotta man up and keep pushing until you break through to other side. And the point of being husband and dad is that it’s easy to do. I see so many held back.
“Oh, but my wife or my kids are different & they don’t like what I like & they don’t understand & you don’t know my situation...” This is is childish talk. Have fun & let yer flag fly. It’s not hard. Wife & kids in their own way want you to step up. Just do it & stop being weak.”
I could give “stop being married emo simp or hardened faux-doomer” dad/husband talks & become next Jordan Peterson (no relation) easy enough, but this thread’ll have to do. Just realize sometimes you can & should go w/instinct & stop playing this imposed role corrupt culture.
You like/are good at some stuff & have a vibe but you think *marriage/kids* took away? No—that’s on you, friendo. Your wife/kids would appreciate it if you show it to them. Man up & do. For God’s sake don’t care about initial reactions. Dad jokes work via follow-thru & conviction
So many men are held back by complete BS about they just accept about what they *should* do. But our culture is wrong about that. Follow yer instincts through. Happiness is often so close but we fail to break through obstacles that appear much closer & larger than they are.
“But Matt, I can’t say this publicly but MY wife or MY kids or MY work make this really—STFU.” No excuses. We all got ‘em. Be the king of your castle. It’s good to be king, and joyous and fun sometimes. Dudes who have and had it way worse found a way. You can too.

And I’m out.

The whole point of mainstream media is the radicalization of its audience, of course.
Oh, you thought the American public just happened to change its mind in the light of cool reason over the last few decades on topic after controversial topic?
The stern fear about "radicalization" causing "violence" outside mainstream institutions/platforms is really just concern that there might be competition. Radicalization via mainstream institutions & platforms leading to violence is the story of the entire summer of 2020 riots.

As head of the CIA this man lied to the United States Senate about the fact that under his direction the CIA spied on the United States Senate to counter their investigation of CIA interrogation measures. He lied to the American public about drone casualties, & much else besides.
He was never punished, never fired. But he demands that half of America publicly renounce their support of his political opponent whom he also spied on. Might be a reason why these dangerous fascists are so obsessed with Russia...
But he not only walks free and is paid to collaborate with partisan media outlets—he is considered one of our elite masters by The Party. And if The Party demands that every major corporation support its narrative, you must do the same.

The difference is some of us have always been against such phrases and violence, and backing the blue is something virtually all Trump supporters agree with. Mature adults understand the distinction between a handful of people and the views and actions of 75 million people.
The rest of the nation sees what is going on here: the complete reversal of the entirety of elite America when it comes to the framing of (and incitement and justification of) political violence.
You don’t get to lecture us now about political violence. You gave away that pedestal over the last year. Trained crowds tried to take over the White House to the point where the President of the United States had to be moved and your response was to make fun of him.

Of course they are going to cancel Clarence Thomas and anyone else they want now. If Rs can't make distinctions and speak truths about the protests (gone terribly wrong, to be sure) the Ds will control the narrative. Which they already do, along with everything else.
Official Republican DC is in the process of canceling itself, even as it thinks it is saving itself. This is 1917 now. There is zero reason for ongoing purge to stop. And it won't. The distinctions to make are fairly simple, but one side has all the power, so saying them is hard.
If Rs can't say "no, this was not a coup but a legitimate protest that went tragically and foolishly wrong due to a number of bad actors" - you know, just say what the Ds have said for months - then it will be painted as a full scale coup/insurrection & used to purge the right.

Are you speaking to us to us via a time machine? Cuz’ that happened in 2008.
Do these people realize that we remember this even if they don’t?

I hate that what pseuds figured out was most likely with basic internet research in a week early last year can only now be validated b/c NY Mag published an article, thus giving obedient “educated” people freedom to explore a newly allowed possibility.

google.com/amp/s/nymag.co…
The effect is, 1 yr after the fact, to “de-politicize” the obvious, most plausible possibility that @zerohedge got banned from Twitter for pointing out early on. Of course, in truth this conscious decision is political, as is the power to “de-politicize” basic facts.
The ability to “de-politicize” or legitimate what is likely true/false & what is acceptable/unacceptable opinion=the difference btwn MSM v “alt” media. Silver lining is at no time in living memory has mainstream media been so distrusted. But much effort still needed to capitalize
