My favorite books on systems thinking.
Thinking in Systems: A Primer by Donella Meadows
A simple and clear introduction. My favorite chapters are 4, 5, 6 & 7. And also the first three chapters. Okay, that's the entire book.

Systems Thinking For Social Change by @davidpeterstroh
Written for practitioners, based on Stroh's long experience working with organisations trying to solve tough problems. Has great examples. There's much to learn from the way he tells systems stories.

The Fifth Discipline by Peter M Senge
Systems thinking in the context of learning organisations. It came out when I was still in college. Was a big hit then, and as relevant today as it was 20+ years ago.

The Fifth Discipline Fieldbook by Peter M. Senge
Insiders tell the stories of how their organisations applied systems thinking and other principles from The Fifth Discipline.

The Systems View of Life by Fritjof Capra & Pier Luigi Luisi
The Big Picture of systems thinking - connecting science, ecology, consciousness, society & spirituality. I attended @capracourse simultaneously, which greatly enriched the reading experience.

Business Dynamics by John Sterman
A text book by an MIT prof, and so, unlike the other books in this list, quickly gets into math, modeling etc. (Beyond me). Ideal way to read this book: Pick an idea, and use online resources to get deeper.

Bulletproof Problem Solving by Charles Conn & Robert McLean
Written by two McKinsey consultants it's about using a structured approach to problem solving. Some problems involve high uncertainty & are wicked, needing a systems approach. Check out Cs 8 & 9

22's character arc reminded me of a beautiful song by Bharatiyar

From:
நிற்பதுவே, நடப்பதுவே, பறப்பதுவே, நீங்களெல்லாம்
சொற்பனந் தானோ?-பல தோற்ற மயக்கங்களோ?

To:
காண்பதுவே உறுதிகண்டோம் காண்பதல்லால் உறுதில்லை
காண்பது சக்தியாம்-இந்தக் காட்சி நித்தியமாம். Image
Second thoughts. In #PixarSoul, 22's story is the Buddha story in reverse.

Superb interview with Abhijit Banerjee. Lots of interesting ideas.
Abhijit Banerjee says, the UPA and also NDA were thinking of having a system where anyone could claim their benefits from govt irrespective of where they were, using Aadhaar. "That would have been wonderful to have that right now.... that would have saved a lot of misery." Image
"Even if an individual migrates or shifts temporarily to some other place, she or he will be entitled to benefits of all government schemes". Sonia Gandhi, after the 1st ten people got their #Aadhaar nos.

"Would have been wonderful"
