Where are San Francisco or Bay Area's mass vaccination sites?
SF Department of Public Health says they are "not tasked w widespread distribution across the entire City." Ok, then who is?

Incredible and unacceptable how few answers our residents are being given right now. It really does seem that other counties, states, cities have been able to provide a lot more information and clarity, and mass distribution. Our city Health Department should too.
"Talk to your healthcare provider" is an entirely and dangerously inadequate answer at this stage.
Outsourcing this to private providers is the absolute wrong way to do this.

With testing, it would have been a nightmare to rely on them solely to test their patients. Of course the County tested Kaiser or Sutter patients, as Kaiser and Sutter weren't doing enough. But now we are going to rely on them to distribute the vaccine quickly to their patients?
We need centralization focused on speed, urgency, transparency. There's enough vaccine available, let's get it out there, now. Don't wait for the private providers or deflect to them, that's a recipe for disaster.
We should be vaccinating at least 5,000 people, a day, in San Francisco. We have the hospitals, we have the space, we have the vaccines. But it isn't happening because DPH is saying "we don't do mass distribution," go ask Kaiser when you might maybe get your dose. Come on.
I know that Dr.@MonicaGandhi9 has been saying this for weeks. Now is the time to MAKE. IT. HAPPEN.
The quicker we get the vaccine out there, the quicker we can see our families, our small businesses can reopen, and lives will be saved. This is life or death. People can't wait 2 months, and they don't need to.
For months, we've been doing mass testing. We didn't ask who your insurer was. We said go get tested bc it is that important. Show up at the Latino Taskforce, GET TESTED.

If you call your private provider now, they don't have much to tell you at all, if anything. That's not gonna work. It won't be quick enough.

We know we can and should do mass vaccinations because we did it with mass testing. The need, incentives, responsibility, infrastructure is actually similar. We should be elevating, learning, expanding and deploying based on what has been in place with testing.
The position of our County to the state should be give us every single possible dose that they can--we'll take them, and will get it out faster, more effectively than private providers. We have that capacity. Let's do this.

Meanwhile.. 
This could be done with UCSF or another provider. That's what is happening elsewhere. But the first step accepting and acknowledging that we DO have a responsibility for mass distribution.
This is already happening in San Diego, Seattle, and many other places.
