OK, here's a bit of timing (deep weeds, but significant) on the Fingerman / Scallops attack that took down Officer Wayte (we're pretty sure, but you'll see.) @bellingcat

@bellingcat = this video from InfoWars ("action 8 news") -- and the stretch somewhere from 2 to 20 min later (I guesstimate) when the Fingerman / Scallops coordinated assault started, with pulled out two cops (5737 and 5586).
The second stretch is covered by many videos, including the Yahoo video, but the one that starts the earliest that I've found is by "Black Conservative Preacher" (#9 I Can't Breathe) The attack starts at 0:56 here, so there's a little buildup.
Those uncut chronological videos are great to build the timeline (has anyone connected them to clock time?). I like group chants (like "Pull cops out") and visual cues -- e.g. the Eagle costume guy steps out of the tunnel immediately before the Fingerman / Scallops attack begins.
There are also edited videos -- always annoying but useful if there's video of a moment you haven't seen yet. In that category is this crucial piece, showing Officer A.P. Wayte losing his helmet -- apparently in the gap of events between the two sets of videos. For example,
This edited video clearly shows Officer Wayte wearing helmet #5737 -- which then falls right off his head. at 10:08. The whole clip is just 35 second (9:50 to 10:25) in an 18:25 video. Why?? Where in the timeline was this?
The video starts with rioters trickling out of the tunnel beginning with a white-hoodied dude who wraps around the camera-left side of the tunnel mouth and out. Hang on now -- I've seen that! Sure enough, there he is, harder to see from the angle, at the start of I Can't Breathe.
So the edited clip reveals something we can't see on the I Can't Breathe video because flags are in the way: Officer Wayte losing his helmet at 0:04. The attack begins at 0:55, just 41 seconds later. Here's the twist - he got his helmet back. Or maybe another cop put it on.
We know this because Evan Hill of the NYT reported these events today with some cool video effects -- including a circle freeze frame of Scallops grabbing the helmet of the downed officer he drags down the stairs. nytimes.com/2021/01/11/us/…
This freeze frame is a much better angle than we've had before, showing that the officer dragged down is wearing a helmet. And yet, roughly a minute earlier, we saw the officer without a helmet. Could it be a different officer who picked it up and put it on? Could but I doubt it. 
No officer was missing a helmet, for one thing. And if you look at that short clip carefully, you can see Wayte reach down and pick up something helmet-sized, though the clip ends before he can put it on or we see what it is. Pretty sure he's got the helmet, about to put it on.
But his desperate fumbling around right as the attack began left him vulnerable as Hockeystickman bashed his head, and Scallops leapt in to kick, punch and drag him down. /thread
