Jill Jacobs: Has no idea what apps people use in Israel
Apparently deleted or maybe I'm blocked. Anyway...the average Israeli would have no idea that Telegram has anything to do with Nazis, and also, people are leaving Whatsapp for Telegram bc of the new privacy rules.

J Street, New Israel Fund, Americans for Peace Now, Habonim Dror North America, T'ruah & others released a statement opposing the IHRA definition of antisemitism saying it has "potential for misuse." Dozens of governments have adopted the definition since it came out in 2016. 1/
IHRA definition: “Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical & physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals &/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions 2/
and religious facilities.”

The progressive orgs oppose the "contemporary examples" of antisemitism, like claiming “the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor." 3/3

This is the result of several years of growing ties between Israel and Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom in the Himilayas, which intentionally limits its relations with the world to preserve its culture and environment.

In a few minutes, Netanyahu is expected to light Hanukkah candles at the Kotel with Amb. Friedman, and comment on normalization with Morocco.
Netanyahu said the citizens of Israel are getting the "great light of peace" for Hanukkah.
Netanyahu: Everyone knows the warm ties of the kings of Morocco and Moroccan ppl to the Jewish community there. 100s of 1000s of Jews moved from Morocco to Isreal and they form a living bridge between the ppl of those countries. This is the foundation on which we build this peace

Not mentioned: Yad Vashem's Labor-affiliated leadership has made myriad political decisions over the decades, like minimizing the prominent role of Revisionists in the Warsaw Ghetto uprising and covering up Kasztner's help for Hungarian Nazis.

Also worth noting that Avner Shalev was not a Holocaust educator before becoming chairman of Yad Vashem, and he did a very good job, so why is that a prerequisite now? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avner_Sha…
I've consistently spoken out against politicizing the Holocaust here and in other forums over the years. But saying the right-wing government can't make appointments that left-wing governments could in the past is politicizing AND delegitimizing.

White House Senior Advisor Jared Kushner in a press briefing says that Israel agreed to a map, agreed to a Palestinian state in the framework of Trump's peace plan
Kushner says that as Israel came closer to applying sovereignty to parts of the WB, UAE thought that normalization could be a way to stave that off.

In exchange for the normalization, fIsrael “will suspend declaring sovereignty over areas outlined in the President’s Vision for Peace and focus its efforts now on expanding ties with other countries in the Arab and Muslim world,” White House statement reads.

tl;dr No annexation
Diplomatic sources in the US and Israel say sovereignty in part of Judea and Samaria are NOT off the table, but that they are on pause for now, in order to facilitate the peace deal with the UAE and possibly more Arab countries.
