1] The experiences of @HEBobiwine & many other Opposition parties in authoritarian regimes, especially those whose incumbents are a product of coups, makes one feel ashamed of being African
Africa needs new leaders to break this chain of oppression, capture, abuse & lawlessness
2] The Ugandan Dictator, General Museveni is unrelenting as he pushes for another term in office
@HEBobiwine's party has effectively been politically outlawed.
Many of his members/supporters and party Leaders have been arrested, tortured & murdered
a. the international world has been shut out with the blocking of social media
b. Opposition members/leaders are being abducted & killed
c. International & local observers are being forced to pull out
Our politics needs a disruptive departure from the old & tired nationalist rhetoric
2] Ofcourse, there is more to politics than "being young"...
Yet the point of departure is,nationalist movements have become an albatross to regional development, with what most of them traditionally represent, becoming alien to the aspirations & experiences of new generations.
3] The future can not be secure under people without lived experiences of what it means NOW, to be poor, African, black, etc.
The future can certainly not be planned by people who wont be there.
What's the inspiration for fighting for agenda 2063, by age faking 70+ year olds?
2] With everything currently happening in Zimbabwe,@DailyNewsZim still found it important to interview one Victor Matemadanda & make his propaganda the front page TOP NEWS!
The transformation of @DailyNewsZim into an extension of ZanuPf anti-Opposition machinery is breathtaking.
3] There is a clear logic to this madness.
Let's face it Zimbos, the "private media" is being conveniently used to prepare our psyche for some ED-Mwonzora pact.
The only question is on the nature of the pact
I wonder what Zanu plans to get from DM which they couldnt, from Dr TK
[1] All these whispers for "talks" between the warring MDC factions are a waste of valuable time.
At a personal level,I believe in multi-party democracy, meaning that we need as many Opposition parties as well.
Secondly,we are better off without chaotic elitist unification talks
[2] Its quite funny, that Senators Mudzuri & Komichi, as they were campaigning towards the MDC-T EOC, all claimed to posses requisite skills & maturity "to reunite MDC politicians/factions"
Mwonzora is now singing form the same hymn, promising to "personally talk with Chamisa"
[3] In fact, it was under the same "wisdom" that Senators Mudzuri & Komichi, dutifully accepted the positions offered to them by Sen Mwonzora.
they didnt want "the MDC-T to split again".
Funny enough, they masterminded the MDC-ALLIANCE split.
Before looking at what gov, the Opposition & civil society should be doing, we as citizens, need to realise we have a role to play
We really need to change our behaviour, if any gov measures are to be successful
it can't be business as usual
[2] The recklessness that characterised festive season celebrations are just unacceptable
It would seem like many people are still living in denial, yet the covid variant, or second wave, will have more devastating effects, compared to the first wave.
It's actually scary
[3] Dear citizens, in our individual capacities, let us avoid unnecessary gatherings, visits & travels
Lets sanitize, wear masks,& adhere to all regulations, to the best of our individual abilities
most importantly, let us demand the same, of those we can't avoid contact with
