As COVID-19 continues to spread in our communities at staggering rates, we are calling on South Carolinians to take immediate actions to stop the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.

We want South Carolinians to understand that we are all now on the frontlines of the fight against COVID-19.
Until the COVID-19 vaccines become more readily available and enough people are vaccinated, we must all act now or continue to face unprecedented numbers of cases that are overwhelming our hospitals and healthcare systems, as well as taking the lives of those we love.
We’re calling all South Carolinians to help us fight this disease by taking small steps that make a big difference:

o wear your mask,
o get tested and stay home when sick,
o avoid large gatherings,
o practice physical distancing, and
o when it’s your turn, get vaccinated
The full telebriefing can be viewed here:
We ask everyone to please be patient as we work to make certain the limited doses of vaccine available in our state are provided first and foremost to those most vulnerable to this disease. The most current vaccine allocation information for SC is at scdhec.gov/vaxfacts.

DHEC is providing additional information ahead of tomorrow, Jan. 13, when those 70 and older can begin to schedule appointments to receive COVID-19 vaccine. scdhec.gov/news-releases/…
DHEC’s online map at scdhec.gov/vaxlocator goes live Wednesday, Jan. 13 showing locations currently accepting appointments for COVID-19 vaccine and contact information for scheduling appointments at those locations. The map itself is not a way to schedule an appointment.
Beginning Jan. 13, individuals can also call DHEC’s Care Line at 1-855-472-3432 for assistance in locating contact information for making an appointment. The Care Line CAN'T schedule an appointment but CAN help provide the phone numbers of locations offering vaccine appointments.
