I just voted to impeach donald trump for inciting insurrection and trying to violently end American democracy.
Donald Trump is dangerous and the greatest internal threat ever to American democracy. Trump sowed insurrection to overthrow our government and he came close to succeeding. Trump engaged in treason.
Trump's atrocities have not abated but accelerated by failure to constrain him. The blood of dead is on his hands. If his actions are not impeachable, then nothing is. And when he is out of office, trump must be prosecuted for his crimes too.
What the world witnessed on January 6th was not spontaneous but a product of republicans lying to the nation for months about the election and spouting Big Lies about our government for decades. They built this Frankenstein threatening our democracy.
History will condemn republicans years-long failure to stop trump’s atrocities, and so too can we today pronounce judgement on their cowardice. They have betrayed the Constitution and had these republicans been around in 1776 or 1861 or 1941, the nation may not have made it.
In the coming days we must decide which congressional republicans are unfit to hold office. If we fail to hold trump and his enablers accountable, America will lurch inexorably down the path of lawlessness and fascism.

I’ve been sounding the alarm on rightwing domestic extremism for over a decade.
Back in 2009 I pleaded w/ my colleagues to listen to Mr. Johnson’s warnings. His report was tragically buried after Rush Limbaugh and other liars created a firestorm.
In 2017 after Charlottesville I interviewed Mr. Johnson (@DTAnalytics). Listen carefully. He’s been right about rightwing terror longer than anyone.
Rightwing domestic terrorism is a threat to every community in America — and it’s growing.
Coldblooded murderers, rampaging neo-nazis, militia maniacs, and other domestic terrorists have exploded bc trump has spent 4 years winking at, nodding to, and encouraging their violence.
I’m cosponsoring @RepCori's resolution. Any House members who tried to overturn the election and install a dictator violated the Constitution and should not sit in Congress.
Back on December 11th I was the *first* member to demand against seating in Congress anyone supporting insurrection against the government. They are violating Sec 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment.
Section 3 of the 14th Amendment was written after the Civil War to bar from government any traitors who would seek to destroy the Union. It forbids Congressmembers from engaging in insurrection against America.
Trying to overturn an election is a pretty clear example of that.
In November, I called for the prosecution of donald trump.
With today's bombshell report of trump's attempted vote-rigging on tape, I want to do a thread highlighting some of his specific crimes and bad acts from A to Z.
On bill barr’s last day as the most corrupt Attorney General America‘s ever had, let me reup my thread of some of his lowlights
Barr lied about the contents of the Mueller Report’s findings to the public right out of the gate and repeatedly lied about them under oath. nytimes.com/2020/03/05/us/…

With bill barr leaving we can never forget barr’s constitutional crime spree and rampage against the rule of law.
This thread provides some lowlights.
