Meat eaters: would you eat lab grown meat? Keep in mind it’s structurally identical to non-lab meat!
Vegans: would you eat lab grown meat?
Are you interested in learning more about lab grown meat & dairy?
For anyone who answered yes or no, if you feel comfortable, I would love for you to elaborate your thoughts! Thanks for participating!!
Also I know I keep mentioning this in every tweet today but if you’re interested in learning about cell based meat & innovation in this space - I highly recommend following my friend @RyanBethencourt !!
PS no one asked me my opinion 😂 but I’ll share anyway: I think cell based meat is the future! I personally have been vegan so long that even impossible burgers make me gag bc they are too much like the real thing😂 But I am so happy for this option for omnivores in the future!
And vegans who are interested too of course!

When are we going to start talking about the fact that this pandemic was caused by eating animals? If it’s not this zoonotic disease, it will be the next one. Maybe we should start talking about stopping factory farming, wet markets, ⬇️ animal consumption & prevent the next one.
A great read from @derekberes — who is not biased (like me!) because he is not vegan.🙏❤️

My dad is having some statin intolerance, and we just had an hour conversation about trying a PCSK9i, so I offered to e-mail his cardiologist to give her the rundown & he said NO! He said he didn’t want me to “bother her” and he’s her favorite patient 😂

LMAO I’m a cardiologist
Playing backseat doctor with parents is always interesting 😂
PS I love my parents and they are stuck with me back seat doctoring forever. And like, if it’s in MY specialty, I feel like I’m allowed.😂

There is a huge problem of vaccine & COVID misinformation that we have been seeing in the nutrition & wellness space for MONTHS. As the vaccine is rolling out it’s getting worse. And I’m asking everyone with any sort of influence on social media, to help me with this. Thread.
If you’ve been following me on social media you already know this but - let me start out by saying that I absolutely believe in the value/health benefits of a plant-based diet. I literally work in a multidisciplinary practice with physicians of various specialties + RDs centered
around using nutrition + lifestyle + GDMT to help our patients optimize health. Believe isn’t even the right word. The science clearly demonstrates how powerful using nutrition & lifestyle change can be in reducing the incidence of chronic disease.

When you’re a doctor & you say COVID is real, promote masks & social distancing, now I understand how Fauci feels. At the advice of @RyanMarino I called local police & FBI who said there’s nothing they can do. Here’s a time stamp on Twitter in case anything ever does happen to me ImageImageImage
FYI this was on Instagram where I have 180,000 followers. Have no clue who it was. But promoting vaccines, masks, and public health information results in this.
Thanks for everyone’s support. Spent last night crying and very scared. Now have to check in on some patients with COVID. It’s real! ☹️ Wish we didn’t get death threats for saying so.

4oz of my fave black bean & sesame pasta:
46 g protein
26 g fiber
60% of DV for iron and potassium
30% of DV for calcium

🙃
@ChristianAssad you will love this one!
For anyone interested in starting to eat bean pastas - often I recommend starting with chickpea pasta or lentil pasta.
I think the texture is most similar to traditional pasta.

I’m just going to say it - across the country, MANY physician trainees weren’t allowed to say anything about lack of PPE during the peak at their hospitals. Some got sick. Some have died.

Residents & fellows must be protected as we go into winter & COVID #’s increase again.
All physicians, nurses, all healthcare providers should be protected. But trainees are often muzzled, have no negotiation power, and are scared to speak up as they use the same mask for weeks on end. This can’t happen again.
During the peak of the pandemic in the northeast, we had a group text of over 200 cardiology fellows across the US. This wasn’t an uncommon concern. Hoping this time around there is a higher level of safety for everyone in training
