Hey @JimVandeHei.

At the end of Bush (and McCain as the candidate), the GOP had only 41 Senate seats; now they have 50.

GOP had 178 House seats; now they have 213.

Had 24 Governors; now 26.

Had full control of 14 legislatures; now they have control of 29.

cc @NumbersMuncher
2020 would end even better for the GOP if not for the non-Trump wing of the GOP undermining and undercutting their party the last 4 years just to own Trump.
A week ago, @ForecasterEnten wrote that no POTUS since Hoover went from having all 3 (WH, House, Senate) to losing all 3 of them in one term.

This makes Trump sound a historic electoral failure when in fact he is among the winners; especially on the GOP side. For example:
GOP Ike lost the House/Senate after 2 years; Nixon, Ford and Bush Sr never had the House or Senate; Reagan never had the House; Dole, McCain and Romney never won in the first place🤣

Trump at least won the WH; had the House half his time and Senate in full.

Bush Jr. did better.
The shape in which recent presidents left their parties politically when leaving the WH:

Senate:
50 Trump
46 Obama
41 Bush Jr.
50 Clinton
43 Bush Sr.
45 Reagan
46 Carter
38 Ford

House:
212 Trump
194 Obama
178 Bush
212 Clinton
176 Bush Sr.
175 Reagan
243 Carter
143 Ford
Among the last 8 presidents (starting with GOP Ford in 1976) Trump is leaving his party with the most seats in the House except for Carter and the most seats in the Senate except for being tied with Clinton. (See details above).

Politically, Trump was a boon for the GOP.
LBJ is the last POTUS to leave his party with more seats in the House and in Senate than what Trump is leaving the GOP with.

All presidents since then, left with less seats in one chamber or in both; except for “popular” Clinton who left with the SAME in House/Senate as Trump!
You won’t know this from reading @JimVandeHei, @ForecasterEnten et al but when Clinton left the White House, the Dems were in the same political shape as the GOP is now:

Out of WH

50 seats in the Senate

212 in the House

Clinton was way more popular than Trump.
The propaganda articles as to how “bad” Trump is leaving the GOP, pretends that Trump is worse than Dole, McCain, Romney who never won even 1 term or that president who never even had the House or Senate are better because they never lost it.
Trump lost the House after 2 years and the Senate after 4.

Want some comparisons?

Ok.

Nixon, Ford, Bush Sr. never had either!

Eisenhower and Clinton lost both after 2 years.

Obama lost the House after 2 years.

Trump’s record meets or beats most recent presidents.
Pilling shows that Trump is leaving on stronger footing than the previous GOP POTUS:

40% in a NBC poll think that Trump will be remembered as one of the best presidents. Only 20% said so on W. Bush when he left.

49% say Trump is of the worst; 48% said so on Bush.
Trump’s final approval rating in NBC/WSJ is 43%.

Context?

Bush’s final number in this firm was 27%.

Trump’s net approval (which is disapproval minus approval) is -12. Bush was -41.

cc @KarlRove
Positive Favorable Ratings NBC Poll

48% @Mike_Pence

44% SCOTUS

44% Biden

41% @KamalaHarris

40% Trump

39% Dem Party

29% GOP

(31% Bush when he left in 2009)
ABC/WP Poll:

Only 32% think that @JoeBiden did not legitimately win the election . This is more proof of the damage Trump has done in recent months by sowing doubt in the election.

Kidding, hacks.

42% thought this time 4 years ago that Trump did not win legitimately.

A reminder that if you parrot the narrative pushed by most news outlets on any given topic, you are a mindless zombie; not a righteous hero that is principled. You are a useful idiot for those who have political and rights-crushing agendas that may bite you some day.

Moron.
The point is not that you should be a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian. But you are not that sophisticated when you parrot @Morning_Joe and his wannabe guests (99% of DC Journos).

Stick to brick breaker, beer and Bitcoin.
When you can’t explain your political/policy position on merit you need to resort to self-righteous sounding buzzwords like “country over party” and “principles.” But self-righteous claims for sake of country is a tool by dicdators to crush people; not a way 2 run a free country.

OMG!

Is this sedition or incitement?

Maybe @Liz_Cheney knows.

Source:
The righteous cons who piled onto Trump for wanting to ascertain the integrity of the election did not lose their mimd to this “attack-on-democracy and incitement” by Hillary weeks before the 2020 election to the cheers of @jmpalmieri (former Obama WH Comms Director).
Some people in the conservative movement put hate of Trump over country which is why when Hillary Clinton openly called for Biden to undermine the election results, Cons did not flip out because the victim of such an “attack on democracy and sedition” would be Trump had he won.

@ForecasterEnten The GOP lost the popular vote in 7 or of the last 8 presidential elections which means it’s not a Trump issue, but Trump at least won the WH; McCain/Romney did not. Bush/Obama left their parties with less seats in the House/Senate than did Trump.
.@ForecasterEnten Trump is indeed the first incumbent since GOP Hoover to lose WH/House/Senate in one term, but you ignore that GOP Eisenhower lost the House/Senate in 2 years; GOPs Nixon, Reagan, Bush Sr. never had the House, and W left his party with less seats than Trump.
GOP Senate seats after Nov elections:

52 Trump 2020

53 Trump 2016

45 Romney 2012

41 McCain

55 Bush 2004

50 Bush 2000

55 Dole 1996

43 Bush 1992

45 Bush 1988

53 Reagan 1984

53 Regan 1980

Trump’s numbers meets/beats most of the recent GOP numbers.

The more popular your current political/policy issue is, the bigger the chance that history will see it as wrong. Hence the need to wait for history which sees things diff than what was accepted at the time.

If 80% media noise PR your view, U R likely on wrong side of history.
The term “history will judge so and so” is reserved for people whose current voice is drowned out in the noise of the majorry so they can only wait for history to judge it with a clear eye.

But if the Big Noise is on your side then you are probably on the wrong side of history.
As you can see, history remembers positively the person who refuses to go along with what everyone is doing at the time. If you see yourself on the same side of broad media narratives regarding rights/freedoms then you are probably going to be on the wrong side of history, moron.

Thanks @RepKenBuck @RepThomasMassie @chiproytx. Pelosi’s effort are incitement to some and seeks to overturn the 2016 election. The terms ends next week so let it run its course.
Only 40% polled by Ipsos trust Pelosi to safeguard America’s democracy. Any @HouseGOP’er that goes along with a new impeachment effort is watching too much CNN/MSNBC.
If you are newer to politics you now have a live lesson as to why Nixon resigned and why Clinton survived. Republicans tend to pull to its party Stockholm Syndrome sufferers and push overs; generation to generation.

The censorship started years ago. The issue was when Righteous Cons excused it away as private business taking out Trump Crazies like Alex Jones, and Trump was too selfish to care. Now things are just accelerating.
It was never about Trump or “dangerous radicals.” It was/is about taking out political opponents by giving excuses that make it sound as legit.

That’s how fascists have done it for centuries. Packge the opponent as “dangerous” and 3/4 country agrees with your action.
When freedom-crushing dictators and regimes get to tweet and tweet threats while commentators and officials in the US R banned, you should know that it is not about rules/peace/safety. It’s about crushing political opponents but you Righteous Cons are too dumb to notice. Morons!
