I love listening to stories of people who tried shrooms, because they really found the meaning of life on their trip.
I had one very profound trip last year that changed the way I viewed life forever.

When I tripped, I had my window wide open because it made me feel closer to nature. But for some reason, I felt anxious having it that open and went to close it.
When you trip on shrooms, you end up thinking. A lot.

It was like someone told me, “What are you afraid of?”

Which I replied, “I’m scared of a bird flying through my window.”

My thoughts said, “Why would a bird who has total freedom outside, come into your room of captivity?”
The thought process had me shook. It was like something unlocked in my brain, I’m the caged bird. I’m the bird that’s stuck in my room. I have trapped myself in my own cage.

Then it was like I heard Mother Angelou say,

“I know why the caged bird sings.”

Changed my life.
That entire trip had me looking at my entire life on how I have trapped myself. How I trapped my emotions, how I get trapped in half-love, how I trap my dreams.

And shrooms showed me how to choose not to.

I left my window wide open the entire trip.

Since Esu is gaining more popularity on the socials, let’s talk about how due to religious imperialism in Nigeria, they decided to link Esu to Satan. Esu is not Satan.

Linking traditional divinities to Christian demons is spiritual warfare and religious genocide.
Esu is not a devil, a demon or anything related to Christianic frameworks.

This all happened because of the translation done by Samuel Ajayi Crowther, a Nigerian linguist and the first bishop. In his Yoruba to English dictionary. He translated Satan to Esu.
With the rise of Islam & Christianity, this has led for Esu to be translated as Satan in Yoruba Bibles continuously.

Esu acts at the will of the Creator. He is not Satan. And the slander against one of most important divinities in the Orisha traditional religion is a shame.

Hi 💛 This is a very popular question I get asked very frequently!

Let me start by saying this, the orisha’s purpose of existence is to assist humanity. So therefore, we are all children of the orisha.
On the continent there’s also more than just ‘guardian’ orisha. There’s lineage orishas, orishas that see over certain villages, and orishas for certain occupations. When children get born there’s certain divinations that are also done to see which divinity will assist that child
And the guardian orisha can actually change throughout certain phases of your life before initiation. This is why the orisha you may be told in Divinations change to a totally different one when you are getting the ase on your head during initiation.

Though tarot, pendulums, and other methods of divining are powerful tools in their own right, they will never be able to reach the orisha. Once you start mixing things that don’t really need to be mixed is when confusion will start.
True cultural sensitivity is understanding and respecting these differences! There is a time and place for tarot. Please respect our religious practices by not contributing to this or allowing others around you to contribute to this. Let’s strive to be more informed in 2021!
The traditional methods of interacting with the orisha are methods that cannot be learned online but at a foot of an elder.

One of these tools is Erindiloggun. Cowrie shells that are blessed of the orisha and allows for communication and prescriptions to be given. Image

If you’re truly at peace with yourself, it’ll be hard for you to feel threatened by the success of others.
Feeling threatened is contributed to the idea of scarcity.

If you’re content with yourself, what you offer, and know that there will always be enough, you’ll be able to create long-lasting relationships that aren’t threatened by jealousy.
A lot of people sabotage great relationships because of envy or jealousy.

Those emotions create a type of resentment that is sticky and heavy, because it’s truly fueled by the person’s lack of esteem, belief, or faith in themselves. And they end up projecting that outwards.

The child who is taught that their emotions do not matter, becomes the adult who struggles with acknowledging their feelings.
The child will become the adult who lacks emotional awareness. Who does not know what emotion feels like in their body. Will feel emotions like it’s their first time experiencing it, every time.
Imagine that you’re filling water in a glass. Water is your emotions, the glass is your body.

Someone who doesn't have good emotional awareness will only see the problem when the water finally overflows, and *not* when it’s dangerously reaching the brim.
