Monday morning check-in on pro-Trump social media.
For those worried: the overall tone is increasingly one of resignation OR hope that some external forces will keep Trump in office. There is no organization of protests, rallies, or violence. This is good.
BUT… 1/
…the situation is very precarious. As I said on Friday, they are looking to Trump for guidance. He's been largely silent, which is good, but there is civil war-level anger among many supporters. If Trump were to call for it, I think many would take up arms 2/
His followers feel like victims. The poor white males… 3/
Some are starting to realize they don't really have a play here 4/
Others still think it's all going to be ok for them. These are the Trust the Plan / QAnon types. More on this a bit later in the thread… 5/
They are starting to think about civil disobedience. While many still deny Trump supporters had anything to do with the insurrection at the capitol, they also can see that what happened there did not help their cause. They don't quite get what civil disobedience means, though 6/
But some do. I'm not sure they can claim these are "creative" ideas, though. Where have I heard this and seen it used before???? 7/
Let's jump into the murky QAnon end of this pool. I cannot restate enough that Q supporters believe a Satan-worshiping cannibalistic pedophilic cabal of child sex traffickers is running government & the media & that Trump is going to arrest them all in The Storm
Time is short 8/
Some of the Q-types are getting nervous. Glimmers of reality are starting to break through to some of them, but they are not ready yet 9/
For those who still Trust the Plan, there are only 3 days left. When will The Storm happen? Many say tomorrow (1/19)
Why?
Because it's National Popcorn Day, of course!
Really.
The guy claiming to be Q has made some popcorn references in the past. This is enough to be a sign 10/
The National Popcorn Day talk is highly prevalent in these forums and it's really just because Q has said "enjoy the popcorn" before. These guys love memes, so they certainly have seen these. But they look VERY DEEP for signs 11/
Others believe it will come right down to the wire. They hate John Roberts now and want him arrested, too. So they think if he inaugurates Biden, then he will have Crimes because he swore in a fraudulently-elected president, and THEN we can arrest them all 12/
I admit I do not totally understand how Trump remains president if this scenario were to play out, as the Constitution could not be more clear about when his term ends, but 🤷♀️
Also, note the militia language in that last post. We are on the precipice of violence everywhere 13/
Some Trump-supporters are ditching Q, though. It's taken a while, but some have seen enough (or not seen anything as the case may be). 14/
What is the path back for the Q-adherents after Inauguration? My academic specialty is not cults, but I read a lot about them. So much of Q world smacks of cult. When Biden is sworn in, for many, they will suddenly see they have dedicated years to a lie. How do we manage that? 15
I don't have the answers nor a lot of sympathy, but I know it is important. There are people with expertise in this topic who know better than me. For now, I remain focused on the immediate threat of violence and continue to hope Trump remains silent for the next 3 days 16/

force a refresh
Good morning, everyone! There are still no big organized plans for action among the pro-Trump social medias today, 1/20/21. I'll keep monitoring for small threats. But mostly, I'm going to be live tweeting the meltdown of the QAnon conspiracy theory crowd. Join me! 1/
As a reminder, today is the last day that The Plan can be executed/The Storm can come. If you haven't been keeping up, that means it's the day the military steps in and arrests the Satan-worshiping cannibalistic pedovore int'l child sex-trafficking cabal in Congress & the media
Lots of stimulants, medication, and other substances fueling the Q crowd today. Interesting how their conspiracy bits leak in here, too
Evening pro-Trump Social media update (1/19/21):
-Still no organized violence plans (good!)
-Much disappointment/anger for Trump after speech
-Plenty still holding out hope for QAnon Storm/Plan
-Shocking amount of talk about myPillow. Like A LOT
I don't know what's next, but…
If I had to speculate tonight, I see 2 paths:
-Trump gets back on socials, holds rallies, over next few months, inspires them into violent frenzy. Expect attacks on media, prosecutors/states coming for him, "enemies"
OR
-Trump stays mostly quiet, base crumbles into disgruntlement
No matter what, there's a serious domestic terrorism threat to be addressed. This should be a priority of the intelligence community for years to come. Optimist Jen thinks Trump will mostly be deplatformed and fade away. Dystopian Jen worries.
Tuesday 1/19/21 check-in on Pro-Trump social media: tl;dr -still no plans for big organized violence leading up to Inauguration
-Today is National Popcorn Day which is the day QAnon supporters think The Storm (massive arrests) will happen
-I'm worried about what comes next
1/
Ok so the good news is that the paranoia continues to strengthen and there seems to be no plan for any organized action, protests, riots, demonstrations, or anything today or tomorrow. The consensus is to stay home. Horay good news! 2/
Some people are getting antsy, but almost all realized there are huge risks and no benefit. They thought they could force Congress to keep Trump in office on 1/6. They know they can't force anyone to appoint Trump tomorrow. 3/
If you will indulge me a little more, I'd like to share another element of the conspiracy theories surrounding inauguration, because we're hearing a LOT about Trump becoming the *19th* president of the United States
(no threats of violence here) 1/
OK SO - this truly bizarre story says that in 1871, the US ceased to be a nation and instead became a corporation that belongs to the city of London (attn @SadiqKhan)
AND if you see an American flag with gold fringe, well that represents the corporation NOT the country 2/
This, they say, is why the rich are privileged and the average guy can't get ahead. They do not explain why the City of London would do this to us, their American Corporation, but this is how we get the victim narrative introduced 3/
Let's do a Friday afternoon check-in on what's going on in pro-Trump social media
One of the most dominant themes is paranoia. Anyone who talks about a rally, protest, march, or other action gets accused quickly of being part of the FBI/antifa/deep state 1/
That said, this is not quite right because… 2/
…the Virginia Citizens Defense League is organizing a caravan for Lobby Day on the 18th. Their event was armed last year (photos from 2020) and they explain how to show up armed this year, even though they don't have permits to hold an official event vcdl.org/LD2021Routes/ 3/
