TODAY: @Sifill_LDF will join @mitchellreports on @MSNBC to discuss the Biden/Harris administration and the work that lies ahead to address the intersecting racial, public health, and economic crises. Watch live!
"[Kamala Harris] will be the first Black woman vice president, the first vice president of South Asian descent. This is incredibly historic and really important...Even as history is being made, we are returning, in the US Senate, to a very grim look at representation..."
"It's important to remember that many people who would normally participate in a day of service today are not doing so because of the COVID-19 pandemic. And this will be one of the first and most important things for the President and Vice President-Elect to confront."
"What has been unleashed in the country has only grown more emboldened. It, of course, lived beneath the surface, it was not created by Donald Trump. It was perpetuated by people in the highest levels of government, religion, politics, journalism..." --@Sifill_LDF
"Today, Martin Luther King Day, is an important day to be honest. We celebrate this day because this person who believed in peace was assassinated in this country. So, today is a good day for us to reckon with the fight that we have ahead." #MLKDay#MLK

FLORIDA! You have until 5pm TODAY, Nov. 5 to make sure your provisional or mail-in ballot is counted! Check the status of your ballot and how to fix any issues here: bit.ly/2TYXXi2
Don’t wait! Call 866-OUR-VOTE if you need any help.
.@Sifill_LDF on our #USPS suit: We focused on the transportation decisions that the new Postmaster General made. We wanted to make sure every ballot would be delivered...We're still fighting to get every ballot delivered even after the process.
"There was an order that was presented by the Judge that required the Postal Service to do sweeps throughout the day...In the evening, the Postal Service let it be known that they had not done the sweeps...Obviously, we were very distressed about this."
Our democracy is counting on you, do you have your plan to vote?
Make sure you:
✅Confirm your voter registration
✅Find your polling place
✅Know what identification you need to vote
✅Stay safe: PPE, hand sanitizer, social distancing
Voting laws and identification requirements can vary state by state. Be #PreparedToVote and find out what you need in your state. Our #PTV campaign focuses on targeted jurisdictions and has non-partisan voter education materials for those states here: voting.naacpldf.org/voting-rights/…
As we do every year, we are identifying, monitoring, and responding to voter suppression efforts to protect voting rights and dismantle barriers to the ballot box. Report potential voter suppression here: bit.ly/ReportSuppress…
"I have talked for some time about what I call the regime of impunity that protects police officers, and the entire apparatus, from accountability and we’re seeing some of that today...One area of impunity is the ability of unfit officers to go from department to department."
"I want to see the grand jury transcripts. I want to know how this case was presented to the grand jury. The idea that they would come forward with only one set of charges, none of them having to do with Breonna Taylor herself is quite alarming..."--@Sifill_LDF
"Black and Latinx people are 3X more likely than whites to contract COVID. They are 2X more likely to die from COVID. So, we must look at how we can enable that population of voters to exercise...their right to vote in a way that doesn't put their health at risk."--@JNelsonLDF
WATCH: @JNelsonLDF explains the Eleventh Circuit Court's decision to uphold #SB7066, a law that requires returning citizens to pay all outstanding fines and fees before they're allowed to vote.
