Now, what about FIBROIDS would you ladies wanna know? Image
In simple term,

Fibroids are muscular swelling in the wombs Image
How many ladies has fibroids?
Yes, soy intake increase 1.5x risk of having fibroids or growing it

Eat more soy bean milk, tauhu, taukwa, fuchuk and any soybased food to grow your own fibroid plantation!

This sounds like medical school question and pretty googleable

Elon Musk once said: Important to ask the right questions than to get the right answers

Anyway, symptoms mainly heavy menses, lower tummy pain, compressive feeling of urinary or bowel opening
Different

Fibroids in womb

PCOS is a systemic whole body disease with findings mainly in ovaries - poly(many) cysts (fluidfilled sac)

Yes. From literature, girls as young as age 14 have fibroids as well

Pregnancy reduces the risk of having fibroids
Image
1. There is no max because some skillful laparoscopist can do quite big fibroids via keyhole surgery. My personal threshold so far is 10cm
2. At least 6months before pregnant
3. Avoid food preservatives. Healthy lifestyle

Tiap2 kali lepas operasi akan terbentuk adhesion atau perlengkatan

Lekatan pada pundi kencing, salur darah atau usus, maka lebih tinggi risiko cedera organ tersebut semasa operasi selanjutnya

The real answer is 7 out of 10

So it is quite a common condition in ladies!

But only 1 in 4 of those who have fibroids proceed to develop symptoms requiring treatment either medication or operation!

What are the food to be avoided the most if you have fibroids?

@gynaepenang #gynaepenang
Actually
food preservative increases by 3x
compared to
soybean milk which is only 1.5x

Lunch Quiz:

Can fibroids turn to cancer?

@gynaepenang #gynaepenang
Best or usual way is ultrasound either abdominal or vaginal

Better assessment is by MRI but not cost-effective

Can fibroid be treated with medication?
Can fibroids be removed via keyhole surgery?
This was voted correctly by Twitterjaya peeps

Yes, indeed fibroids can turn cancer but the risk is rather low 1 in 2000 to 1 in 500

Assessment of its cancerous changes can be fully read up at
gynaepenang.com/inpenang-fibro…

Fibroids used to hv a meds specifically for it called Esmya (Ullipristal acetate) but recalled fr market dt risk of liver failure. But all those hvg liver failure r elderly, postmenopause ladies, who shd hv operated

So now just meds for symptoms relief
Yes
Surgeons sliced fibroids into small pieces (called morcellation) n removed thru small holes

MOST impt is it done WITHIN bag to prevent dispursion of leftover pieces inside tummy which may turn to cancer

Then, why obstetricians are more inclined to do Caesarean Sections rather than conduct Normal Deliveries or some docs totally stop seeing pregnant patients?

Personal choice
or push by public pressure?

Find out in subsequent tweets

(thread)
1 Unpredictable hours of childbirth
Preggies can go into labor at anytime and deliver at anytime, even at 2-3am at night as compared to elective preplanned CSection

And when in labor, docs need to hang around in the hosp or extremely nearby (locked up personal time)
2 Ultrasound, antenatal test & in labor CTG cardiotocogram are NOT reliable in determining baby's health

Hence, moms who refused genetic check may end up hvg genetically handicapped baby but blamed it on birth process

In court, lawyer will ask "Why CSection wasn't done earlier?"

TOP 8 POINTS IN COVID19 PRIVATE-PUBLIC INTEGRATION
by Dr Low Kah Pin @gynaepenang

Disclaimer: I am a gynae,
NOT public health expert,
NOT epidemiologist
NOT infectious disease specialist
NOT covidologist

But here's a few things I wanna pen down since I am curating (alang2)
1 Private hospitals all prepared to help out in pandemics since EARLY 2020, to take over non-covid patients as CSR corporate social responsibility program

Thus, there is NO need for darurat in 2021 to nationalize private hospitals
2 Rumors: Reason to open up private hosps for covid19 patients was enable VVIPs (read: Ministers) & supertycoons who not keen to be admitted to public hosp or quarantine centre ie MAEPS

Not all GHs are filled up fully by covid patients
Many GHs just turned hybrid lately

After Trump stepped down, Bernie is the famous one!

Meme is no joke!
Bernie's reaction?

“I was just sitting there trying to keep warm, trying to pay attention to what was going on.”

“What was really nice is the woman who made the mittens lives in Essex Junction, Vermont, she is a schoolteacher and a very, very nice person." #Berniememes

Good morning, all!

Just another working Saturday for me

But first, morning walk with my usual morning symphony
The huge shady old big trees along the road was massacred yesterday

The fresh sawing wounds were clearly seen

This road is secluded and only used by less than 10 residents of houses here

Took a many years to grow a tree
One day to chop it down

Penang City Council, why? Image

He maybe a straightfaced famous standup comedian to you but his childhood and life is an amazing tale of a survivor of an apartheid regime as a mixed child Image
