"I have to do everything around here!"

Have you ever said this?

Ever thought it?

It is probably your fault.

Good news.

I'm here to help you delegate.

//Thread
Effective delegation includes two steps:

1. Setting clear expectations
2. Inspection

Let's look at how >>
Clear expectations take out the guesswork.

Be sure everyone understands

- What the task is
- Who is owning the task
- When the task will be completed
- How you will be inspecting completion
Our current workforce thrives off also knowing the WHY.

This is their motivation.

- If they care about people, let them know-how the task helps out their teammates.

- If they are competitive, let them know how the task helps them stand out from their peers.
Let them figure out how to complete the task if they can.

This is an opportunity for them to get practice as problem solvers.

It will both challenge them and free your brain space to focus on a more critical task.

Win-Win.
The next step is crucial.

You need to follow up.

Every. Single. Time.

You need a simple way to verify they completed the task.

You want to be able to recognize them for doing a great job.
If you are just getting started in the world of delegation,

Give your team small projects with tight timelines.

This will help you get into the habit of following through.

Sunday's plan produces your week's success.

Ambitious people have a lot on their list.

Being able to step into your week with clarity means organizing your to-do items into FOUR meaningful buckets.

Here is how you do it.

//Thread
First Bucket: Do Now

There should be a maximum of five things in this bucket.

These are the things that only you can complete AND are most critical for you to accomplish.

You want to block time out and complete these early in your week.
Second Buck: Do Next

This list should be 5-10 items long.

There are essential items but aren't as absolutely critical to your long term goals as the items on your Do Now list.

I've added close to 1000 followers in the last month and a half.

It's been incredible watching this account grow recently.

After 10 years of using Twitter casually, I've started to get dialed in and be intentional.

Let's talk about why and what I’m learning.

I’m going to help people learn how to be confident and effective leaders.

Social media is the best way to do this at scale.

I’m currently a leadership consultant for a Fortune 40 company. I work specifically with the customer care team.
I also have a coaching/consulting business I’m actively growing.

All the money I’m making here is getting reinvested in myself.

- Coaches
- Marketing
