7 Golden Rules All Great Men of Power and Success Follow

Conquerors, Entrepreneurs, Athletes, Artists, Philosophers etc

When you study great men of past and present, you'll find they all follow the same rules

Let's explore what they are

//Thread//
1) The Fundamentals don't change

All the secrets to success are no longer secrets:

If you can see it, you can live it.

Just do it.

Etc.

They are only cliches if you do not live them.

Great men turned these cliches into a blueprint for success by living them.
2) If you don't blood, you can't lead

All great men are leaders but they all bled before they led.

Steve Jobs was kicked out of Apple before he invented the iPhone

Stephen King's first manuscript got rejected multiple times.

They are also both masters of their domain.
3) Overnight success happens after 10 years

Consistent work > Hard work.

Everyone has enough willpower to work hard, but few have the drive and obsession to show up every day for 10 years.

All great businesses and empires were built with consistency.
4) You are always a student

Only losers stop learning after school.

Great men are always hunger for more knowledge, experience and lessons.

The most valuable lessons take time to absorb.

Curiosity is the engine that drive all great men to keep working and keep learning.
5) Believe in your own greatness

because no one else will.

Negativity is more common than positivity.

If you want success you must believe you are capable of success.

You must see yourself as being successful.

And you must live with that vision until it becomes a reality.
6) Ignore common advice

You know who listens to common advice?

Common people.

The pattern is always the same:

Every great man is called crazy for ignoring common advice.

Then he becomes successful and all the commoners beg him for advice.
7) Study greatness from great men

The two best ways to learn to be great are:
1) Find a mentor
2) Read autobiographies

There are no degrees you can study for greatness.

There are only stories of those who have done it.

Listen to those stories and apply them to your journey.

5 Daily Practices to be More Creative

Read this thread if you are struggling to find your unique advantage in this world.

//THREAD//

Creativity is a muscle that must be trained.

Like any other muscle, it atrophies when you don't use it.

The easiest way to start building your creativity muscle is to train your brain to come up with new ideas.

Chances are you already do this subconsciously.

But what if...
you did this intentionally?

Ideas are powerful.

Just one executed well could change your life.

When Richard Branson had the idea for Virgin Atlantic, he called Boeing the same day to lease a plane

It later became a billion dollar business but it all started with that 1st idea

Read better books to think better thoughts.

If you don't like how you think, reading books is the fastest way to upgrade your mind.

A short **thread** of books that will help you think like a Legend.

(continued in the next tweet)
1) How to stop worrying and start living by Dale Carnegie

A strong mindset is more about alleviating your worries than it is about thumping your chest.

This book will completely change your perspective on how you think about and handle your worries.

I revisit it often.
2) Surely you're joking Mr. Feynman by Richard Feynman

Richard Feynman was a Nobel Prize winning physicist.

This autobiography was a reminder to never let go of my childlike curiosity.

When you approach life with this mindset, everything is just a game.

5 ACTIONABLE TIPS TO HELP YOU BECOME AN EXPERT ON ANY SUBJECT IN MINIMUM TIME

aka THE ULTIMATE THREAD TO LEARNING ANYTHING

//Thread//

👇👇👇
1. Get your hands dirty

The reason why we forget 90% of what we were taught in school is because memorisation is not learning.

The fastest way to learn is to have a stake in the outcome.

Risk is the switch that activates your learning brain.
2. Write about it

Writing forces you to think through what you've learned.

Just as your body needs time to digest food and absorb all the nutrients

The process of writing allows your brain to digest knowledge and absorb the wisdom.

1) See your mind as a department of the business You,inc.

Most people see their mindset as being synonymous with their identity.

Eg. I *feel* down therefore "I must be depressed".

This way of thinking f*cks up your self-confidence and stops you from growing.

HOW TO LEARN SPANISH TO CONVERSATIONAL FLUENCY IN 6 MONTHS OR LESS IN 5 STEPS

In this thread I'll outline the exact process I used to go from speaking 0 Spanish to being able to converse with native speakers in 6 months.

Bookmark and read this...

//THREAD//
First let's define conversational fluency since it's a term I made up (or maybe it exists, I dunno)

Conversational fluency is the ability to have a social life in your target language.

Eg If you can socialise at a party w/out Google translate, you are conversationally fluent
You may have an accent.

You make grammatical errors.

But you're good enough to hold a conversation, express yourself, make plans with locals, go about your day to day life etc

WITHOUT pulling out a phrase book or Google translate.

This is important to note because...

It's Sunday.

Which means it's time to rejuvenate and form a plan of attack for the next 7 days.

Here is a simple 3 step system to help you do that.

Quick //THREAD//
1) Write out 1-3 BIG goals you want to achieve by next Sunday

The very act of writing these out will give you energy and direction when you wake up on Monday morning.

The "Monday blues" everyone else feels? It's because they don't have direction.

When you're moving towards..
meaningful goals, Monday mornings are exciting.

Limit these to 3 IMPACTFUL goals.

Ask yourself "What would I be happy to have achieved in 7 days time?"

And those goals will appear naturally.

Write them all down, then list them out in order of priority.

Pick top 3.
