The lady simply has no clue what research already exists, does not understand how psychiatric diagnoses work, and interprets the tiny amount of research she encounters like she’s reading tea leaves from the moon
(reading that children with gender dysphoria have high rates of attachment styles that develop in response to struggling to get acceptance and support from caregivers): this shows they should get conversion therapy
The authors seem to want to make the causal claim but the study isn’t designed to get at that, and then they do weird stuff like directly using certain ACEs as exclusion conditions for the control group and then reporting that the control group had fewer ACEs as a notable result
the difference isn’t solely due to the explicit mental health ACEs but it’s kinda ???? imo

Thinking about how like 10 years after being publicly Uncomfortable with gay marriage John Schwenkler expected us all to pretend the reason he is against trans rights is because he is a RADICAL FEMINIST
if i say "folk psychology" do normal people know what that is
does this get the gist across
one of the things I have learned from the anti-trans backlash is that philosophers absolutely do not have a clear idea of the kinds of questions our methods can address (notably not empirical ones)
I am looking for the syntax textbook I used as an undergrad. I think the cover was beige and it was enormous and boring. does that sound familiar to anyone
Big boring beige
I think the title involved a specific theory? But I don’t know any syntax theories
