Yesterday, the Central Bureau of Investigation in India registered a case against #CambridgeAnalytica and GSR for misusing Facebook data. The Bureau alleges only 335 people installed the app yet 562k people had their data harvested.

The poster of The Indian National Congress party in Alexander Nix's office as seen in @thegreathackdoc has been the source of much debate in India (according to reports) over which parties Cambridge Analytica worked for.
opindia.com/2021/01/cbi-fi…
According to testimony/evidence provided by @chrisinsilico to the DCMS, Cambridge Analytica worked for Congress. SCL did work regionally in India.

@podehaye said: Dan Muresan was working for Congress but he was really paid for by an Indian billionaire who wanted Congress to lose
.@vidhidoshi91/@anniegowen at the WaPo:

"Both the governing Bharatiya Janata Party and the opposition Indian National Congress deny hiring Cambridge Analytica’s Indian counterpart for election campaigns and flung accusations at their rivals instead."

In 2018, Wylie tweeted these images setting of a string of denials from spokespeople and officials of India's major parties.
There's more of this 2018 interview for Hindi speakers, but essentially KC Tyagi, the father and ex-MP (BJP) of Amrish Tyagi is on record denying financial involvement with his son and Alexander Nix/#CambridgeAnalytica.

BJP say they have "not heard of SCL Group or Amrish Tyagi"
The directors listed for SCL India, however, include Amrish Tyagi, member of the BJP party.
Amrish Tyagi campaigned in the U.S for Donald Trump to better connect with the "Asian community." According to the Hindu, he has also managed the social media for Nitish Kumar led Janata Dal (United) during the 2015 Bihar assembly elections. CA/SCL worked for Janata Dal.
Ovleno Business Intelligence (OBI) was the subcontractor with Cambridge Analytica and formed SCL India together as shown on their website. OBI, however, list Congress, BJP, Janata Dal and more ALL as previous clients.

@jason_kint @podehaye @profcarroll, did Facebook ever testify before the Indian parliament on the topic of Cambridge Analytica?

💥A DC judge just ordered Steve Bannon to testify under oath to the @FTC about his involvement with #CambridgeAnalytica 💥

Judge said that the hearing can happen before May 2021, before Bannon's NY criminal case.

Bannon had previously been fighting the FTC saying that he could hurt his NY criminal case by testifying to them.

Excellent work by @JasonLeopold!

Unfortunately the secrets behind these redactions from August remain a mystery. #CambridgeAnalytica whistleblower Brittany Kaiser told #TheGreatHack that she was cooperating with Mueller team. The Russia question remains..
buzzfeednews.com/article/jasonl…
For context @JasonLeopold obtained Kaiser's 302 in August of 2020. It's entirely redacted. ALL pages in the Mueller report related to #CambridgeAnalytica and any potential Russian connection is redacted. ICO in the UK referred Russia connection to the NCA

We know from #SSCIVol5 that #CambridgeAnalytica potentially did work with/for Lukoil. Redactions remain over that.
