1. Ship quickly

Sahil came up with idea for Gumroad.

Built it over the weekend.

And launched it Monday morning on Hacker News.

52,000 people saw it on the first day.

2. Making tough decisions

Gumroad wasn't growing quickly enough to keep up with the demands of investors.

To keep the company alive, he laid off most of it's employees.

Larry King wasn’t always the man in control behind the mic.

Here’s a funny story from his early days 👇

When working on radio, he had to do the over night show.

12 until 6am.

Whilst on shift, the phone rang.

In a sexy voice, the woman said

“I want you”

She wanted Larry to come over but she had to leave for work at 6, when Larry’s shift was due to end.
