Led by @hpluckrose, counterweight seeks to help those who may not have the platform, knowledge, or skill set to confidently oppose Critical Social Justice (wokeness) and assert their own values in opposing discrimination
1. We focus on the individual with limited power. 2) We help people understand Critical Social Justice so they can resist effectively 3) We help people push back from within their organization in the way they want to.
3/ By helping people understand Critical Social Justice and how it operates, and providing insight about how to oppose CSJ, Counterweight empowers individuals with limited power to push back on an illiberal CSJ takeovers of their organization, institution, or workplace
4/ In addition Counterweight will also be providing original essay regarding various aspect of Critical Social Justice and the movement it created.
The first essay "10 ways woke ideas spread and stick" comes courtesy of @BlogUnwoke, it can be found here:
23/ If an organization, institution, or workplace that you are involved with is beginning to see an institutional take over in the name of social justice, @Counter_Weight_ is here to help. With teaching, resources, advice, and council...
24/ @Counter_Weight_ has created an entire community of people who have put together the resources to help you make an appropriate plan that you are competent in and comfortable with for when you decide it's time to push back.
1/ One thing we never talk about with Cancel Culture is how Cynical it is.
Most of the time, people don't actually care what someone did, They just want to *use* cancel culture to take out a rival or get back at someone they don't like.
So, cancel culture as revenge
A Thread🧵
2/ Cancel Culture started when people realized they get social media mobs to shame people for doing things they didn't like.
Now, people see they can get someone cancelled and are using it as a tool to destroy people either because they don't like them or they want revenge...
3/ So people are using cancel culture as a weapon, and this is particularly true among young people.
Jimmy Galligan saw a 15 year old girl use a racial slur when she was 15, held the video for *4 YEARS* and then released it after she graduated to get her kicked out of college...
The issue is not Biden himself. The issue is woke Social Justice activists will burrow into every area of government. When that happens people will be "held accountable" for not being woke enough. Wokeness will become the moral paradigm.
Wokeness is utterly intolerant of anyone thay does not see the world EXACTLY as they do. They see anyone who think differently as "complicit" in racism. Once they have power they will ruthlessly drive anyone who is not fully woke out of society.
They can't abide conservatives...
Their ideology won't let them. It will be using the levers of government power to spread their ideology as much as they can, and using the levers of social power (public humiliation, cancel culture, and social shaming) to get what they can't get through government
2/ You guys are going to take the "L" here and quite frankly you deserve it. Cori Bush is going to eat your lunch every day until Biden is inaugurated and there isn't a thing you can do about it.
So....
Let's talk about how to make sure this never, ever, happens again.
3/ How did Cori Bush know you guys were going to have problems and violence?
Because she was trained in the lefty protest movement. Lefty organizing are what she did for years, that's her area of expertise. So she knows just how quickly and easily protests go off the rails...
