This is an animal themed sord thread for @Yukari_Kaiba
First is my best boy Nakigitsune.
He is a reticent boy and his fox does most of the talking.
He likes other foxes and is doing his best.
He's voiced by MR HARDCORE YOKOHAMA BADBOY himself.
This is Kogitsunemaru.
He was forged by a little fox, hence his name. He is not small himself.
He has very nice hair and he is very proud of it.
This is Shishiou.
He defeated the nue on his shoulder but they're friends now.
He belonged to an old man sword wielder, so he likes grandpas and tries to take care of them.
This is namazuou.
He is only named after a catfish and not a catfish himself.
He used to be a small naginata, but was shortened in to a wakizashi.
He will throw horse poo at you.
His va is also FLING POSSE POSSE Yumeno Gentarou
This is Gokotai, he is a tantou.
His name comes from the fact that he held off 5 tigers. But in hame he can't attack them because it would be mean and he loves his tigs. The tigers are all very naughty and playful babies.
This is uguisumaru, he is a tachi.
He is named after the nightingale.
He liked tea and his buddy Ookanehira.
His wrist pompoms remind me of dango.
His va also wielded sords as YAIBA from SB69. (I know u are looking tasu)
This is hotarumaru, he is an oodachi even though he looks small.
He has two brothers one smal and one medium sized. They were forged by RAI kunitoshi.
He is stonk and will hit 3 enemies at once.
He is named after the legend that fireflies once healed this blade.
This is Tombogiri, he is a yari.
His name references the fact that he once supposedly cut a dragonfly in half.
He has big tiddies and is a very nice man.
I think he gets secretly burlier everytime I see him....
This is hachisuka kotetsu, an uchigatana.
He has both BEES and TIGER in his name but he is not a beetiger man.
He is just very gold.
He drives a tractor sometimes in a sparkling gold yukata.
He has 2 other brothers in the Kotetsu family.
This is urashima kotetsu, a wakizashi.
He has a little turtle buddy!!! Turtle friend!!! Turtle friend is very old and wanders off sometimes.
He is themed after the legend of Urashima tarou.
He loves both of his big brothers very much.
This is Nagasone Kotetsu, he is an uchigatana.
Technically he is not a real Kotetsu, but he is here in this thread because I feel like he's tiger themed and also he has big tiddy.
Hes based off a jp pro wrestler that has also low key cosplayed him and I love all of these facts.
This is Kogarasumaru, an ootachi.
He is considered the father of sords and instructs them to call him daddy.
I have seen his replica irl and he is beautiful I will call him whatever he wants.
He has crows in his name.
His va fights another sord man and OYAKATASAMAAAAAAAAAAAAs
This is Tsurumaru Kuninaga, a Tachi.
He is named after cranes.
He is also mostly a little shit tho and goes around trying to surprise people.
Hes gotten like 4 nendos or some shit.
He looks like he doesn't have friends but he actually does. Masamune's sords!
His va is Gentarou.
This is Nyansen Ichimonji, an uchigatanya.
A cat that touched his blade accidentally was split into half and he became cursed...nya!
He was originyally much taller but the curse made him short and cat like... nyow he wants to chase small things and catnap in fluffy straw...nya!
This is Hakusan Yoshimitsu, a tsurugi.
As far as we know, the fox does not speak...but he looks very fluffy.
He is currently the only healer and only tsurugi in game, but he is doing his best.
This is Sanchoumou, a tachi.
He is the boss of the Fukuoka Ichimonji team, which includes Nansen Ichimonji.
He is named after a mountain bird, and likes making a lot of birb references even tho he looks like a cool yakuza man.
This is Taikou Ichimonji, a tantou.
He is monkey themed because he was owned by toyotomi hideyoshi, who oda nobunaga nicknamed the monkey.
He has three brothers, and they're all doing their best, especially Sayo who is a good boye.
He makes references to momotarou sometimes.
This is Samidare Gou, an uchigatana.
He is themed after a dog as one of his precious owners was Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, who once put out a law that no one was allowed to ever harm does under the death penalty, and was called Lord Dog because of it.
Now we need a pheasant...
This is Ookurikara, an uchigatana.
He has a dragon on his arm and he Does Not Want To Make Friends!!!
Too bad tho because the other Date Masamune sords already consider him one.
He is named after a very ancient dragon but he's a bit of a baby.
This is Koryuu Kagemitsu, a tachi.
He has a tiny dragon tattoo on his neck and dragon in his name.
He keeps threatening to go on trips because he likes traveling, so inwonder if u need to give him more enrichment...
This is Oochidori Jyumonjiyari who is a spear.
He has birb in his name but is not very bird like.
He gets a special mention tho because he was wielded by none other then SANADA YUKIMURAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
And I thats all the animal related sords that I can think of
Special Mention: Sengo Muramasa, who is not an animal but he enjoys discarding his clothes and has a bunny tail and a bull on bunny suit under his business.
Tonbogiri is in the same family as him and tries to stop his stripping but God knows how successful he actually is.
Oops I typed Ichimonji too many times because fukuoka clan and autocoreect now refuses to let Samonjis live.
He is part of the Samonji family! Non suit man!

Since Touken Ranbu is releasing in English, let's talk about some of the social phenomenon the fans of this game have caused.
In this thread I'll be covering various topics from donation drives to Never Buying From Scalpers that show how Saniwa changed history. #toukenranbu
First I want to mention that the anticipation for the game was so high when it came out on 1/14/2015, the initial 2 servers filled up almost immediately.
There would be subsequent servers added, but even 2 months later, 3/10, interest was so high that the 2 servers released
Filled up completely in 15 hours.
Because of this, tkrb accounts were posted on auction sites for ¥5000~1800. This would mark the start of the long battle of Saniwa vs Scalpers, although no one knew this at the time.
The first sign that Saniwa were going to be an economic
Saniwa literally saving history and museums, single handedly revitalizing the sword industry, crowdfunding to save cultural properties, buying 1/8 male figures and carving the way for male anime figs, 1:1 scale mikazukis, but also live action Souza slapping the shit out of hasebe
Ok so,
One of the biggest differences of how I see Japanese people digesting media and how Americans digest media is the ability to separate oneself from the topic.
Japanese people are used to living with duality. The culture of Japan is all about honne and tatemae, and while a
lot of Americans think of tatemae as situational lying, it's a specific form of communication that adds a buffer of space between people. Sometimes that buffer is
helpful and sometimes it isn't but that's not what we're discussing today.
In the same vein, Japanese fans consume media with that buffer space, and you see the difference in fandom spaces very keenly.
For example, Japanese cosplayers don't tend to roleplay. I feel like the
