In all the rantings and ravings of white supremacists and racists, one theme that comes up often is that POC think they are owed something or want something for nothing, in general, it’s in reference to affirmative actions.
One thing they seem to bypass is that if equality existed, if there were no systemic racism in place, affirmatives actions would become unnecessary and would fade away. But as it is affirmative actions are necessary to counter the systemic racism that exists on all levels.
If schools in poorer neighborhoods were properly funded there would be no need for colleges to have quotas to meet.
If POC were given raises or promotions for equal work and capabilities as their white counterparts, there would be no need for businesses to have quotas either.
If wages were higher, things like food stamps and CHIPS would eventually become obsolete. Higher wages are necessary for people to live with the basics without asking the government for help.
If history incorporated black achievements and participation, there would be no need for black history month.
The problem has never been affirmative action, I for one would like to see it disappear, the problem is the need for affirmative actions. And there is great need.
The reason that those who oppose affirmative action can’t see this is because of white privilege. Never having faced those obstacles, heck never having been aware of them, they can not understand or comprehend the need for them.

They want us to forget the years of abuse
The constant chipping away of our rights
The systemic roadblocks they set up in our way
The rising numbers of restraints on our liberty
They want us to wipe from our memories
The rising numbers of POC dead bodies
A cop kneeling on a man’s neck for 8:46 minutes
A woman shot inside her own house
They want us to ignore the evidence of our eyes
The proliferation of white supremacy groups
The multiple attacks inspired solely by hate
Deliberately cultivated by those in power
They tried everything they could think of the lower the number of voters.
They knew that if every one of legal age was allowed to vote their defeat would be historical and without precedent.
So they sabotaged the election itself
They gerrymandered districts
Asked for voter ID’s
Ignored the pandemic
Tried to discredit mail-in ballots
Tried to cancel and canceled a lot of drop boxes
Sabotaged the USPS
Sued states over their rules
Started crying fraud even before the election
After the election, they kept trying
Tried to corrupt electors
Tried to bribe them
Threatened them
Tried to overturn the elections
Even tried to kill members of congress
I never knew I cared about politics
Until a madman was elected
I never knew I was an activist
Until a black man was murdered
I never knew I was a Patriot
Until traitors attacked the Capitol
I never thought about immigration
Until I saw children in cages
I never thought about war
Until I heard of bounties on our troops
I never spoke about protests
Until I saw mothers gassed
I never knew about voter suppression
Until my rights were threatened
I never knew about government policies
Until they started destroying them
I never knew what the flag stood for
Until one man knelt before it
Calling for unity under the threats of more violence!
Several elected and high-profile republicans have spread the message on social media or in interviews, democrats need to call for unity, if they don’t there will be more violence!
2. This is supposed to be a call for unity? This is supposed to convey a call for peace? How can peace be achieved through fear and threats? It is nothing more than a threat from bullies.
3. Unashamed that their past actions have led to terrorists’ attacks, they are insidiously calling for more! Trying to cower democrats into not taking actions against them and trump! Threatening and still egging on their base whipping them into another frenzy for other attacks.
1. Apparently, trump followers feel disenfranchised, they feel misunderstood, they feel they have no voice and are not being heard.
Really? They feel disenfranchised and unheard?
2. Remind me again how long POC have been fighting for justice? for equality?
Remind me again whose voting rights have been systematically suppressed?
Remind me again who has faced systemic discrimination in America?
3. Trump voters have no idea, no clue, no inkling about what being disenfranchised is or its impact on your life. They have no concept of inequality or injustice. They are blinded to their own privileges and have no clue as to what being privileged even means.
