Be Your Own Revolution

"Just blast forward into your own revolution, burning brightly and scorching the machine with your own light. If you shine brightly enough, the others may follow when they are ready."
caitlinjohnstone.substack.com/p/be-your-own-…
Be your own revolution. You have all the media access you need to help wake the world up with the power of your own inspired action. Reject cliques, factions and sectarianism, and have the courage to stand on your own two feet attacking the machine with your own unique abilities.
This doesn't mean you can't organize and work collectively; you absolutely can. If you see people doing something you want to uplift, uplift it. But when you're done, don't stay and become a member of the club. Move on and retain your self-sovereignty.
Have the compassion to prioritize the needs of the collective and the courage to stand as an individual.
This is just what's worked for me, and of course your mileage may vary. But if you're like me and you don't see the various groups and factions getting us to where we need to go, consider stepping out of the vehicle, standing on your own two feet, and waging your own revolution.

Biden Takes Two Small Steps Toward Ending #Yemen War. Keep Up The Pressure!

"Wins are few and far between for those who support peace and justice in this world, but it does look like we might-maybe-possibly be approaching a tipping point" #YemenCantWait
caitlinjohnstone.substack.com/p/biden-takes-…
The Biden administration has taken two small steps toward ending the horrific US-backed mass atrocities in Yemen, with temporary holds placed on both a murderous sanctions measure and on arms deals with Saudi Arabia and the UAE pending review.

This follows an earlier announcement of a one-month pause on the Trump administration's designation of Yemen's Houthis as an FTO, an unforgivably brutal measure which would cut off needed aid to an already starving populace and potentially kill millions.

If you're doing something that people want to help uplift and amplify, let them do so. When they don't want to anymore, let them go. Don't try to manipulate them into staying.

If you see people doing something you want to uplift, uplift it. When you're done, don't stay. Move on.
These debates over who we should be letting in and keeping out of the revolution club hold the assumption that there has to be a revolution club in the first place, and there just doesn't. Organize and collaborate on a case-by-case, issue-by-issue basis while remaining sovereign.

Days that Biden has chosen not to honor his campaign promise to end support for the war on Yemen:
Every day Biden chooses not to act on his Yemen campaign promise means many more dead children. This article explains how Biden could have taken steps toward ending this atrocity on day one. He's chosen to make it a low-priority issue. This is inexcusable.
inthesetimes.com/article/joe-bi…
Biden *temporarily* limited Trump's Yemen sanctions for one month, and people are still going to die anyway. He needs to PERMANENTLY end *ALL* US facilitation of this mass atrocity.

This is a bad faith smear trying to tie Dore to comments made by random Nazis on websites that have nothing to do with Dore. Is Jimmy now so omnipotent that he's responsible for everything anyone says about him anywhere on the internet? Very sad to see SEP/WSWS pulling this shit.
I SO didn't want to get involved in this latest flare-up, if for no other reason than that there's a whole lot more happening in the world than Jimmy Dore. But Jesus Christ people are acting bat shit insane.
IT'S. NOT. DORE'S. FEED. It's some random corner of the internet that has nothing to do with Dore. That's my entire point here; people are trying to make Dore responsible for every time any asshole speaks his name anywhere on the internet.

For years idiots have been calling me a "red-brown" who is secretly trying to turn leftists into Nazis and sneak Nazis into positions of leftist leadership. You'd figure after all this time they'd be able point to a single instance in which I've been able to achieve such a thing.
Back in 2017 they were certain, 100% certain, that I would be pied-pipering leftists into Nazism. At the very least they were certain that I'd be one of those Berners-turned-Trumpers like Fairbanks or HA Goodman who cheerleads Trumpism. They were wrong then, they are wrong now.
I said some dumb things when I first started this writing job because I didn't fully understand the various online factions, and I defended my arguments poorly because I was being mobbed by people who were saying false things about me and I was triggered.

Twitter Rolls Out New Wikipedia-Like Program To Narrative Manage Tweets

"Whoever controls the narrative controls the world."
caitlinjohnstone.substack.com/p/twitter-roll…
Twitter has announced that it will be employing "a new community-driven approach to help address misleading information" called Birdwatch which news media are comparing to the model of content moderation used by Wikipedia.
"We know there are a number of challenges toward building a community-driven system like this — from making it resistant to manipulation attempts to ensuring it isn’t dominated by a simple majority or biased based on its distribution of contributors," Twitter's statement says.
