Now let's implement your happiness systems...
How many times have you heard that "happiness is a state of mind"?

While that sounds nice, it's not useful.

If happiness was as simple as "thinking more positive"

we'd all be sitting around all day thinking rather than living.

The truth is happiness is a formula..
which can be solved by implementing specific "happiness generating systems" into our lifestyle.

🧪 These systems help us boost 3 major chemicals which make us happy:
-Serotonin
-Dopamine
-Oxytocin

Let's talk about which specific systems you need.
1. Diet

Experiment:

For 10 days, journal every thing you eat and drink, then at the end of the day, journal how you felt that day.

I guarantee a pattern will emerge.

The days where you ate healthy, you felt good and the days where you ate garbage, you felt bad.
Eg. On days where I go off diet and indulge in pizza or whatever, I feel -bloated
-low energy
-weak
-short tempered

When I eat simple like steak and salad, I feel:
-lean
-high energy
-strong
-calm

The key to improving your diet boils down to research + experimentation

👇
I'm not here to push or debate you on what diet you should follow.

You and you alone are responsible for what you put in your body.

If you care about your happiness and health

do the research and experiment until you find the diet that maximises your level of energy.

👇
2. Exercise

Once-off bad events aside, you'll ALWAYS feel better on days you exercise than on days you don't.

Again, this is your basic responsibility as an adult who cares about your physical and mental health.

Personally I like lifting and calisthenics.

Just do SOMETHING.
If you are completely out of shape and the idea of going to a gym seems too hard

Start with walking 30 mins a day.

Like diet, the best way to improve is through experimentation and self-education.
3. Sleep

Like diet, it's hard to appreciate the importance of sleep when you're younger but it's hugely important for our recovery and happiness chemicals.

The basics:
- Low temperature
- Sleep in darkness
- No screens 1-2 hrs before sleep
- Chamomile tea
- 8 hrs
- No alarms
4. Nature (and sun)

It's impossible to be unhappy in nature.

It sounds overly simple but if you're having a crap day, a simple walk among nature will lift you up.

If you live in a city, it is IMPERATIVE that you expose yourself to some form of nature.

If you live in nature...
consider yourself blessed.

Pro tip: If you work from home, surround your work environment with lots of plants.

Having plants in your environment will give you a boost of energy and help you stay in a calm state of mind.
5. Touch

We are social creatures.

Touch boosts oxytocin in our brain which is why we crave it so much.

-Hugging
-Hand shakes
-Kissing
-Sex

These all work.

I've traveled around the world and I've noticed the happiest people on earth tend to touch each other a lot.
I believe touching pets creates the same effect but I haven't looked into it.

As a rule of thumb:

Don't be afraid to show physical affection to people you like.

As long as you are not a creep, you will find most people crave physical affection.
6. Social life

I'm very introverted but like anyone else, social life is incredibly important to my state of happiness.

You don't need to be a social butterfly.

But it's impossible to be happy in solitude.

I'm not a social expert but I'll give you one tip...
Give more than you take (energetically)

BE SOCIALLY GENEROUS.

If the cashier looks like she's having a bad day, try and make her laugh.

Call your parents more.

Reach out to an old friend.

Share your expertise with people with less experience than you.

Smile at strangers
7. Avoid Stress

I'm very good at reading my energy levels.

If something or someone lowers my energy, I avoid it.

📉❌Common energy drainers:
- Negative/Toxic people
- News
- Excessive social media
- Alarms
- Arguments

Make a list of things that stress you out and avoid them.
8. Purpose (Usefulness)

Have you ever wondered why so many pro-athletes fall into darkness when they retire?

While others seem to start a new chapter of a new life?

The difference is one has a new sense of purpose while others don't.

Purpose gives meaning to life.

Without it
it's nearly impossible to be happy.

What you do doesn't really matter.

But if you don't go to sleep with the knowledge that you are doing something useful with your life

That lack of purpose will slowly drive you into darkness.
9. Learn/Grow

Heuristic: Never stop being curious. Always be learning.

It could be as simple as learning a new recipe from YouTube.

Ideally, you want to always be learning a new skill.

Build that talent stack and you'll never grow old.

Ask any marketer what is the FIRST THING they do BEFORE they pour their time and energy into...

...building a product
...crafting an offer
...doing outreach

???

RESEARCH.

But HOW do you research?

It's not as simple as just "read some reviews and forums"..
If it was that simple, we'd all have bucket loads of profitable ideas.

Research is boring and hard af because there is SO MUCH info on the internet.

What if you had a methodical process to extract the one profitable idea from thousands of data points?

It'd be like having...
a map to a huge pile of gold.

That's exactly what @JoshuaLisec's new system is.

It’s your map, your bucket, and your shovel — plus your directions for where to dig.

If you want a templatized process for finding the next profitable idea

Let's get started with Tip # 1...
1) Understand WHY

Doing market research is like digging for gold aka that BIG idea that guarantees people will buy from you.

This gold tells us:
> What people think
> How people feel
> What problems they have
> WHAT THEY WILL BUY

If we can answer these questions...

5 Daily Practices to be More Creative

Read this thread if you are struggling to find your unique advantage in this world.

//THREAD//

👇👇👇
Creativity is a muscle that must be trained.

Like any other muscle, it atrophies when you don't use it.

The easiest way to start building your creativity muscle is to train your brain to come up with new ideas.

Chances are you already do this subconsciously.

But what if...
you did this intentionally?

Ideas are powerful.

Just one executed well could change your life.

When Richard Branson had the idea for Virgin Atlantic, he called Boeing the same day to lease a plane

It later became a billion dollar business but it all started with that 1st idea

Read better books to think better thoughts.

If you don't like how you think, reading books is the fastest way to upgrade your mind.

A short **thread** of books that will help you think like a Legend.

(continued in the next tweet)
1) How to stop worrying and start living by Dale Carnegie

A strong mindset is more about alleviating your worries than it is about thumping your chest.

This book will completely change your perspective on how you think about and handle your worries.

I revisit it often.
2) Surely you're joking Mr. Feynman by Richard Feynman

Richard Feynman was a Nobel Prize winning physicist.

This autobiography was a reminder to never let go of my childlike curiosity.

When you approach life with this mindset, everything is just a game.
