We drove slow through the waterfront in a processional, because DEATH TO WHITE SUPREMACY.
Then we drove to the city-county building, honking. These guys ran out. Officers also ran out from the jail.
This guy walked straight up to @ohdamn_jam, kinda like he knew her or something 🙃. He told her we can protest but we can't block the street...you see he's standing in a parking stall...next to where she's parked & not blocking a street.
Most of us were parked, a few people were in the middle turning lane. Either way, we recall TPD blocking the street on Sunday to ALLOW people to protest 😇🙃
Then came the rifles. They escorted a few people to their cars, because apparently our car horns & karaoke mic were scary.
After reading the demands and chanting, we drove down to 7th and Market. They took our pictures, and we hope they got our good side 🥰
A plane was circling us, turns out it's our stalkers, Pierce County Sheriff's department.
As we played our last song, these guys showed up and blocked the street that we weren't blocking??? We loudly said on live that we were leaving & they magically left. (One of them did a u-turn and mashed on the gas pedal, maybe that's standard training). This guy stayed behind.
One of the people who was hit on Saturday actually came and joined us with his friends. He has really bad bruises on his legs. He told us he went to the hospital. That now makes 4 that we know of, even though the media was told only 2 went 🙃
Total there might have been 30 of us, even less as it got later. So why did they run out and grab rifles? Why the plane? This surely isn't the same energy as Sunday.
In fact, after Jamika & Haiku were arrested, pr*ud boys were making people IN FRONT OF THE POLICE. No arrests. (On video).
We keep being told it's our right to protest, but yet when we do...well, you see how we're met.
Ending this with how you can support the four victims, that we know of.
👋🏾 a lot of new people here. So here's a few things to know about us: (y'all know we love threads)
We love Black people more than we hate white supremacy.
When we started organizing under this name in 2015, it was because received death threats as individuals. Tacoma didn't have a big protest scene, and it was hella easy for people to make us targets. As Black women, we needed to protest ourselves.
😂 not y'all saying people over property yesterday and then being mad at some broken windows today.
No, we didn't go to the protest for safety reasons, but we're also not losing sleep over some windows. They can pay for it with that increased police budget.
This is the same city that didn't blink an eye about Manuel Ellis. Have barely said anything about a cop running people over with his car, and wanted to cut money from the libraries and increase the police budget.
