1. Well, this is the most honest take I've heard in a long time out of anyone from the media.
He has gotten stronger, his ideas have gotten stronger. But it's easier to mistake because some of them have gotten quieter, and traditional pollsters will never ID them.
2. There was always synergy between the rightwing and leftwing populist movements, and the clever albeit dishonest use of racially charged politics by leftwingers like Warren and Sanders have obfuscated that.
But they're going to lose credibility showing what frauds they were.
3. Where will they go during what is becoming more evident by the day, a corporatist authoritarian administration?
Not the Democratic Party. Hell, not even the traditional Republican Party.
So, yes, Trump's base absolutely can get much stronger, and already is more diverse.
"A lot of people said they aren't really Republicans, that, like, they're for Trump. That's it ... I think the base is getting stronger, truly. I think an impeachment would make him even more powerful — a conviction, is what I mean."
Even Tara Palmeri hears it.

Remote learning is a disaster for ALL children, not just "Black and brown". The the focus on certain races over others 1) reveals a major defect in how white urban liberals think, and 2) because of that defect, became the story and distracted from the actual issue.
Truth be told, @nytdavidbrooks and others who are now doing a U-Turn on school closures succumbed to panic and groupthink last spring. They allowed their judgement and reason, as well as ideology and political preferences, to cloud their reason.
The staffer for @CoriBush who was yelling like a psycho at @mtgreenee sounded a lot like that lunatic we saw assault a woman in @MichaelsStores... over a mask.
Grown beta men are now able to yell at and assault women for not wearing a mask properly.
Sounds very "progressive".
Btw, alphas always take stereotypical blame. But as it turns out, it's the betas who are jumping at the opportunity to use the cult of mask-wearing to justify the mistreatment of women.
Nothing, nothing Donald Trump could’ve ever said or did — in the beginning or end — would’ve made them act differently. DC is a military junta shithole because that’s who they are.
2. He never had a honeymoon. He hired everyone he should not have — from Rex Tillerson for Conde Rice to Bill Barr for G.W. Bush — all to extend a hand, only for them to spit in it.
They hated Donald Trump because he stood for and constantly reminded them of, their failures.
3. He was a challenge to the status quo, which knows nothing but preservation and self-perpetuation, and will do anything in the name of them.
The only thing he could’ve done to avoid being where we are now, is to not ever have run in the first place.
The capitol doesn’t look like this is a peaceful transition of power. It looks like a military junta enduring their figurehead isn’t opposed by political dissidents.
None of these extreme measures are necessary and bogus media concern is nauseatingly hypocritical.
Four years ago, #BigMediaHateMachine praised and promoted a mob burning cars, attacking cops and threatening Trump's life.
Media fueled them with a fake collusion conspiracy.
Ironically, the core of the collusion conspiracy was the allegation that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin — together somehow — had stolen the election from Hillary Clinton, something they knew was a flat out fabrication.
Its intended effect was violence, destruction and disunity.
By this logic @Jack, you'd need to ban both @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris for pushing the "very fine people" hoax, funding/inciting riots that led to cop-killings, brutal attacks on citizens, the destruction of thousands of businesses, and the burning of major U.S. cities.
The forward-looking gauges for both the Survey of Consumers and Consumer Confidence Index both began to collapse weeks ago after the election. @NFIB Small Business Optimism fell below average for 1st time since 1973, and jobless claims are spiking.
The economy is taking a turn.
Businesses don't make decisions on the here-and-now. They make decisions based on what they anticipate will happen in the future.
That's why all these indicators soared to record highs after the election of Donald Trump, and that's why they're all plummeting ahead of @JoeBiden.
