honestly, the churn-em-out political book industry and the bizarre downstream effects caused by its gross incentive structure is one of the most under discussed aspects of the modern state of alternate reality politics
there’s increasing evidence a lot of these books exist solely as money laundering vehicles to relocate PAC money into campaigns without leaving a clear trail. it’s a very fascinating scheme that’s not yet reached broad awareness
one of the funnier genres of trump tweets were his constant book promotions of books by all the MAGA mill hacks, the most obvious paid commercials of the era

this is fascinating in that anybody who COULD do the job competently simply won’t take it, meaning his only options are kamikaze incompetents who cannot actually not bring any value to the table beyond what trump himself could do himself
he is CLEARLY not taking advice from anyone with half a clue so realistically why would he even feel the need to pay for advice from the crazy lawyer bin that’s going to be just as bad as the advice he gives himself for free?
