Sidney Powell's "experts" were almost laughably lame. Her "military expert" code-named "Spyder" was a guy named Josh who never worked in military intelligence. Her intelligence expert was a pro-Trump podcaster named Maras who misappropriated $$$ she raised for the homeless. 1/
More on Sidney Powell's lame experts, including the guy w/ a doctorate who confused Michigan & Minnesota & thus combined their data together to "mistakenly" claim that more than 100% of registered voters had voted. And the other doctorate who didn't know Dominion from ES&S 2/
Altho Fox & others retracted some of this misinformation, propagandists know that first impressions are very difficult to eradicate. Unless the corrective info is repeated as often & w/ greater clarity than the lie, people tend to revert back to their initial faulty beliefs. 3/
4/ More examples of the firehouse of falsehoods that fueled the #StopTheSteal campaign - including several bogus videos that went viral—are discussed in the clip in post 3. There were many channels pumping out misinformation on behalf of Trump, just like the Kremlin model.
6/ “We characterize the contemporary Russian model for propaganda as “the firehose of falsehood” because of two of its distinctive features: high numbers of channels and messages and a shameless willingness to disseminate partial truths or outright fictions.”
7/ “In the words of one observer, ‘[N]ew Russian propaganda entertains, confuses and overwhelms the audience.’”
8/ Because of this firehose of falsehoods, no one is talking about how the GOP killed the #SAFEAct election-security bill or how Trump's corrupt Post Master General kneecapped the USPS or how Rs won all those state races that weren't manually audited meaningfully or at all.
9/ Election transparency is still necessary but no longer sufficient. We must also inoculate ourselves & others against misinformation, including by studying & explaining propaganda techniques so that everyone will easily recognize them when they are deployed.
10/ To de-program people who’ve been fooled by disinformation, it’s “important that the corrective information be repeated as frequently, and with even greater clarity, than the myth.”news.northeastern.edu/2018/06/18/tir…
11/ “Don't expect to counter [a] firehose of falsehood w/ the squirt gun of truth. Instead, put raincoats on those at whom the firehose is aimed.”
We must inoculate the public by educating them in advance as to how propaganda works. rand.org/pubs/perspecti…

Jay Sekulow is in the Council for National Policy (aka America’s Taliban), a networking & umbrella group for Religious Right zealots and billionaires. He’s as radical as they come. 1/
I wrote about the Council for National Policy here. I’m pretty sure someone else came up with the phrase “America’s Taliban.” It fits. 2/ extranewsfeed.com/americas-talib…
3/ The CNP has ties to many of the #HandMaidsTale freaks trying to take over the US.
The Rand Corporation has written about a Russian propaganda technique called the "firehose of falsehoods," which requires multiple channels to fool people & make lies stick. Trump & his "Stop the Steal" campaign relied on this technique. Thus, the rise of OANN, & Newsmax. 1/
Steve Bannon has bragged about using this technique. He calls it "flooding the zone with shit." 2/ vox.com/policy-and-pol…

Trump and his allies wanted voters to think that the #StopTheSteal campaign arose organically. But it didn't. @JameMCorey obtained a video from FEBRUARY (before the election) where members of ALEC and the CNP got together to discuss how to attack the validity of a Trump loss. 1/

These notes, which Lance says are from a Morton Blackwell Leadership Institute course for young Republicans, say “less voters equates more results.” Naturally, Morton Blackwell is in the CNP. #VoterSuppression 😡 1/
3/ Here is a speech from the 1980s by Paul Weyrich, a CNP co-founder, where he says out loud that he doesn’t want everyone to vote because the GOP’s power goes up as the voting populous goes down. Everyone should listen to this. #VoterSuppression
Rs made gains in state legislatures in 2020. Even where manual audits are conducted, they rarely include state races. 😢
“Ds spent big to take control of state legislatures but lost their key targets. Now they’ll be on the sidelines as new maps are drawn” politico.com/news/2020/11/0…
2/ “Earlier this year, ... Republicans blocked federal legislation, the SAFE Act, which would have required such [manual] audits for most federal races.”
