NBAPC - Final Sbmission - Dec 2018 - Who we are - Since 1971 Native Councils have represented the interests of NonStatus Indians and Metis ACROSS Canada. - BUT today, the NBAPC does not want to acknowledge it's Metis constiuents and neither does the NCNS. If they receive funding
to nationally represent NonStat and Metis peoples across Canada, per the CAP Mandate, then another organization should be receiving that funding and helping the Metis people of those provinces who have decided to turn their backs on them. Political Accord Implementation funding.
Justin-Trudeau-Letter-First-Ministers-Meeting. - Notice mentioning Metis, gotta get that funding.
CAP Media Release - UNDRIP. - CAP's affiliations are free to not represent Metis people, if they so choose. If they do not represent us, they should not be getting ANY funding for us.
MNC Intervenor in Daniels trial - CAP-MNC split due to fundamental disagreement about who the Metis are - serious dispute in definition.
Mal-I-Mic News - June 1982 - published by and for the Metis and NonStatus Indians in New Brunswick Vol 10 No6 - Native People Hopeful Of Early Rights Accord.
Political-Accord-ENG - Canada and CAP Political Accord Dec 2018 - pg1. - They have a mandate to represent Metis people not covered in the MNC accord. If they can not provide that service, they should not have a mandate and/or funding for that.
Final Powley Implementation Project Report
Final Powley Implementation Project Report - pg 23 - Powley Team held community meetings in both Clare and Yarmouth- The meetings were very well attended- concerns raised about lateral violence.
Final Powley Implementation Project Report - pg 24 - Many individuals complained about being denied membership by CAP's Nova Scotia Affiliate, NCNS. Chief and President of NCNS declined to participate.
Powley Report
and yet CAP still recieves funding for all the people who identifies as Metis, even if their affiliates refuse to represent them!
Renewed CAP-Canada Political Accord - NCNS - 2018. -- One might think it was more about the funding then the peoples !!
dalhousiegazette_volume119_issue24_march_26_1987. - Viola Robinson- President of the NCNS - Robinson represents, non-status natives, natives not on reserves and Metis.
"NCNS - Our Destiny - in 1974 we organized as the Metis and Non-Status Indian Association of Nova Scotia" "Feb 1974 - Mi'kmaq women and men that the gov labelled as -Metis, NonStatus, Off-Reserve, Enfranchised, Non-registered Indians and many other stereotype labels. - NCNS."
NCNS - chief calling Metis - so called 'Eastern Metis', when this organization was originally formed to represent the interests of the Metis and NonStatus Indians of Nova Scotia .
MicmacNews-1977-07 - The Non Status Indian and Metis Association of Nova Scotia has changed its name to the Native Council of Nova Scotia - Viola Robinson - President of the Council
Rock Matte - wanting CAP to respond to the Metis issue. They have so far declined to do so.
@CongAboPeoples -- What do you think CAP. Do the Metis people who, you are supposed to represent Nationally, as you are mandated to do in the 2018 Accord, deserve to be answered on who represents them? If not, do you think we need another National Organization who will do so?
